Members melx
Swervedriver is also one of the rare bands to have just as good B-sides as A-sides. My vote goes to "Kill The Superheroes". I love that intro! oh yes...and 'Planes over the Skyline' too!

Members Philly Fuzz
What do you guys think is the best Swervedriver album, and why? I also really like Ejector Seat Reservation---"The Other Jesus" is a great song, but it's hard to top "Duel" off of Mezcal Head. F'ing brilliant! Television's Marque Moon is fantastic, but I went to see Richard Lloyd solo a few months back and it was horrible!! He was completely out of it, chanting, etc. Although a friend's band opened for him and he almost got in a fight with Lloyd!! Lloyd told him to shut up cause he talked too much and the guy I know called him a {censored}ing has-been. Classic....
Members aeon
I prefer Raise over Mezcal Head, but then again, it is also a good time to just play the first 3 Swervedriver EPs in a row too! Yep, got 'em on vinyl and CD. The first My Bloody Valentine single I ever bought was The New Record by My Bloody Valentine. I had no idea then that they would go on to become an all-time fave of mine. And yea, I have all their records after that one, vinyl and CD. MBV porn: cheers, Ian

Members mr benn
bought my really old deluxe electric mistress off the nephew of the original MBV bassist (forget the guys name),had all is sellings marked on it which produced some really awful sounds! looks like it's been modded, few extra parts in there on the back of the board and the pots from top to bottom are green white and orange (how very nationalistic!) i don't think EH would have done that would they? Members ChrisFFTA
there is a site somewhere that has all the swervie albums collated from live performances, quite spectacular. i think i saw them 8-10 times live and walked away in a mind blown daze every time. stunning band, sorely missed. Members Fender&EHX4ever
Raise and Loveless were definitely 2 of the best albums of '91. What a spectacular year for music, like 1969 or 1977. What other albums would you rank as being high points of that year? Nevermind? Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik? Achtung Baby?
Members Astatine
Didn't Spiderland come out in 1991? Thats a pretty good album!

Members Fender&EHX4ever
I remember seeing the Spiderland album cover, but I never heard the album, which is crazy because I was in Louisville a lot that year. I'll have to check that one out. Bandwagonesque Green Mind Any Spacemen 3 fans? I thought Recurring was pretty cool (ala VU, Brian Wilson, Floyd, J&MC)

Members stent
I think You'd Prefer An Astronaut by HUM is a great album with excellent songs but just isn't very well recorded, alot of the guitar tones sound they were recorded direct into the desk i.e. not amped up.Great songs though. They could have been a great band, but something happened during the Going Blank Again sessions. I didn't like that album much. Seems like they were trying to focus more on being songwriters (Chilton and Bell) and less on being a band with a collective sound, which was their strength. But I still love the Nowhere LP, and a few of their E.P.s (Fall, Today Forever, and Leave Them All Behind). Some of those songs really surge and burn. Alan Moulder is the common factor in '91 (MBV, Swervedriver, Ride, U2) Who else would love to read an autobiographical account of his guitar recording techniques?
