Members unit11
If I go Sam Ash or Guitar Center, do you think either would be likely to give me $100 for a BOSS NS-2 (mint condition, with rubber feet, with instructions, in box) and a BOSS BD-2 (mint, by itself)? I've tried selling these individually in my area and it has just been to much of a hassle, so I think I'm going to sell to the chains. Anyone think I have a chance? Members cloudscapes
in my experience, those types of places usually give you a third of the full price if they're good/mint. one place I know of even admited that was their formula. if you're lucky and/or know the people in the store, then maybe half the value
Members unit11
Thanks. I'll try and bargain with them a little and see what I can get, but maybe I'm more in the 70 dollar range... huh. We'll see. I'll try and at least get 80! Members olejason
You're dreaming if you think you'll get that much. You can buy them for $50-70 all day long on ebay. That means the store will probably sell it for $60-80 which means you might get $30-40 if you're very lucky.
Members Keith SIO
yea... you aren't gonna get much. Think high twenties to mid thirties for each maybe...
Members skitzy
don't do it. they usually end up giving you next to nothing and sell it for somewhere close to retail price.
Members IRG
My guess is you'll get $40-60 in total, maybe a bit higher if you're buying something else. My local M&P shop gives me a lot if I trade in pedals I buy from them, otherwise they don't trades, the owner said they're hard to resell, everyone wants new pedals. Same thing with amps too. That sucks but I've been in a lot of stores like that. I buy probably 90% of my stuff used but I know a lot of people that want everything new. Never understood that
Members DanJep
sell them on the bay. you'll get more.
Members willburford
NEVER sell back to big retail stores. They don't give you nearly as much as you can get by just being patient and advertising in here and on craigslist. Such a waste. I still kick myself for doing that when I didn't know anything about guitar pedals.

Members CHOUTMUSIC
ebay or craigslist...I've let some nice pedals go for next to nothing at stores because I needed money so bad (for heroin).
Members Dr.Picklebottom
i saw a craigslist ad trading guitar lessons for unicycle lessons. you said you wanted to learn to ride the unicycle for a reasonable price, right?oh, wait. i think i may have misread your post. Phil O'Keefe
You'd be lucky to get 25% of the original retail price for anything used on a trade-in deal... it's almost always better to sell the items private party or via ebay.
Members m_Calavera
It's always worth a shot. I went into soundcontrol (big music store chain type place) to sell some pedals. Ended up selling them to the guy i spoke to at the counter for eBay prices But don't accept the store's stupid offers, or you'll feel silly
