Members MakuseruSukotto
1938.How does that relate time scale wise to Mr Paul et al? He made the "log" in 1939. But, the only thing he lays claim to is first solidbody electric. I believe Rickenbacker had been making pickups for their lap steel guitars several years before Les. Members Kap'n
A mere thirty two years after fellow Yalie Lee DeForest discovered (not invented) the "Audion" triode. De Forest had, in effect, stumbled onto this invention via tinkering and did not completely understand how it worked. De Forest had initially claimed that the operation was based on ions created within the gas in the tube when, in fact, it was shown by others to operate with a vacuum in the tube. The American inventor Edwin H. Armstrong was the first to correctly explain the theory of operation of the device, and also to significantly improve it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_deforest
