Members hivedestruction
My Fuzzy Lady MUCH prefers to use batteries. I can kinda trick it by using the voltage sag on my pp2+, but batteries still win hands down. That is the only pedal I own that I prefer using batteries with though. Members Califa
It's almost critical that my fuzzes be powered by batteries. Otherwise, batteries can go {censored} themselves.

I agree. My fuzz pedals have so much more life with batteries. I use a power-all for the rest of my pedals.
Members theboywho
I use batteries very rarely, when I play some solo show, or something where i'm just using one or two pedals, thats usually a delay, tuner and OD. Apart from that I don't care.

Agreed, batteries for fuzz and thats it. Mod and delay pedals especially need adaptors

Members Fender&EHX4ever
I only have a couple of effects that work best with batteries - Fuzz Factory and my vintage Zipper.

Members Mr. Sarum
I only use cheap batteries in my fuzz pedals. other than that, I could care less. Besides most modulation and other time based effects don't have a whole lot of headroom when ran off of batteries.
Members Marshredder
I dont use batteries for anything, its pretty important to me that my pedals dont use batteries! 9v's cost like
Members rydia is hot
so are lots of other things like cars and plastic ... what do you suggest? i bike as much as possible, use as little plastic or non-recyclables as much as possible, reuse things, etc. i suggest not continuing to do something/use something just because other things are as bad or worse. Members christianatl
I don't seem to notice a difference powering my fuzz pedals with an adapter, carbon zinc or alkaline. Am I deaf? What do you battery powered fuzz dudes like about the tonal differences? Please explain this to me. I feel like I'm missing out on something here. I always thought the whole battery thing, or having a buffered pedal in front of a fuzz making a real difference was bull{censored}, until I got the Plum Crazy Fuzzy Lady. It's the only pedal I've ever had that reacts insanely different to both of those things. What's even worse is I don't even know how to explain it.. I'll have to make a clip when I get home later using the same settings showing the differences.
Members Fender&EHX4ever
so are lots of other things like cars and plastic ... what do you suggest? rechargeables But let's face it, the whole effects pedals culture is probably bad for the environment, including burning energy to use our computers to contribute to this forum. Members cleverbastid
The flying tomato sounds like {censored} IMO running on battery. It and the tone reaper sound great on supply, but the tone reaper has a positive ground so I can't chain them together, battery is necessary, sucks. Members HazeFX
Terrible for the environment. Tuner has a battery for use around the house but it's powered via 1spot during extended playing. Sunface is on battery aswell due to grounding issues. Howfully a PP2+ will fix those issues though (isolated outs/sag)

Members mikeoxlong
Fuzz sounds better with batteries because it's uneven power, sometimes you get a surge or a lull, making it sound more natural and responsive...I would like to use batteries, but can't stand it, I hate replacing them and if I'm on tour and I leave my pedal board in the cold over night, bam batteries are dead... .hate batteries, wish they didn't sound better for fuzz
