Members Capsule
http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/cms/2007/05/12/setup-for-jaguar-and-jazzmaster/ This page is really good, as is OSG. They are tricky beasts but a good set up makes them play amazing.
Members melx
A "new" (serial number says mid 90s) '66 big block reissue, crafted in Japan. You are looking at MIJ numbers, CIJ numbers started in 1997 with A+6 digits. what letter is yours?

It might be possible that it was just a guitar that sat in a warehouse and was not sold. But I read somewhere that the big block reissues weren't made until a later date, like 2003 or so? Members melx
I wouldn't worry about it anyway, Japanese Fenders have always had slightly unreliable serial numbers anyway, they've also released loads of unique models that were only available for a short time in japan at different times. Good Luck with the set up.
