Paolo has gone and banned DualLowpass and Son of HuHefner for posting the following shocking image and insidious comments: " I have heard about you hawt synth doods" "Mods love my boobies!" "Mods, those aren't oscillators" KSS has become just a corporate rag, to promote product, not the definition of a forum, which is "a free and open meeting place for the discussion and exchange of ideas and information" . . . even silly and moronic ideas and information like the above, dammit! KSS is no longer fun, nor very human. I shall still lurk here whenever there's some actual news or information worth reading about, but that's about it. The mods have ruined it for me. I would like to invite anyone who likes to talk about keyboards or even make silly jokes in a free atmosphere to visit Analogia (link below). Finally, I would say a dramatic and ridiculous "goodbye" to all my good buddies here, but there's no need . . . you can always visit me at Analogia, where synths, people and lolcats run free. I think that the moderation here is taking the piss just a little bit. I see no offense to any images posted here I used to post on another couple of boards that were defiantly over the edge as far as taste goes not porn but piercing's etc. I agree with moderation in moderation not heavy handed bullishness by the mods here. I don't thnk its just here.. I think its everywhere on the net... Whilst gas is ever present I see no real threads appearing on how do I sequence this or how do I make this noise or listen to this. There has to be a forum around that manges to cover just music making topics. There are questions on sequencing and making decent OMB backings etc that I would love to ask as I am a sight reader only (tone deaf) but I know that I will only get 101 answers that relate to I need this synth that midi interface and that 30 year old synth that I will never ever use. If I had the knowlage I sure would make a forum dedicated to the joys of just making music not synth worshiping. Synths and any instrument in particular is only as good as you can make it sound so if you are {censored} and sound like {censored} then don't wine that you need the latest gear etc get off the net and down to the woodshed and improve your chop's I know I am as the fantom is showing my shortcomings. If this fails lets have a KSS section for V's threads one for vintage gear and one for those who worship the music and want to learn how to rather than gear lust. If I had the knowlage I sure would make a forum dedicated to the joys of just making music not synth worshiping. then start some threads of things you'd like to talk about. but really, give us a break! most of us are older guys have work, families and other responsibilities that don't allow us to spend a majority of our time working on music, and we also make more than your average college student or part time employee so we can afford a synth or two more a year, but alot of us also have a wife sitting there making sure something goes out before something comes in. but to be fair, there probably are other forums out there that focus more on arrangement and theory than here. most of us are glorified computer geeks. but if you want to ask here, give it a shot and just ignore the people that want to know what gear you're using and what not. And yes here in england we have poorer wages a {censored} economy etc so I have to be careful etc that when I but I buy right and enjoy what I have.I too due to chores etc have little time for music making and I enjoy it when I do. I barely spend 100$ a year on gear. what i was trying to say was there are alot of good people on here aside from all the gear obsessed people of which there are a few. it takes a while to get to know us and weed one out from another. but I would certainly ask keybdwizrd some of the questions you have as he probably has the most experience in that area out of all of us. anyway, sorry for getting off on the wrong foot with you:wave: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Members pink floyd cramer Posted September 7, 2008 Members Share Posted September 7, 2008 I wanted to drop in long enough to say, if you are more into playing out vs synth worship and collecting, and want to think more about "band" than "banned" ditch the drama here and hang out at the Backstage forum. There are some good players there and the discussions are practical and applicable to gigging. It also gives a better perspective to talk with non-keyboard players, to see what they think of us prima donnas . I wish eric, mrcpro, keyboard wiz and others would check it out. The only thing that bugs me is how bitchy a bunch of middle-aged men can get about some picture or moderator decision. Seriously, this goes to all of you, grow the {censored} up.
