I have several theories.

1. It could be a stomp box convolution reverb that allows you to record your own impulses. This would explain the screen as well as the higher number of knobs and the play and stop buttons. Additionally i had emailed Strymon a while ago asking if they thought doing a convolution reverb in that style was a possibility for the future. They said they didn't reveal future product information but anything was possible. So it seems like something they've at least considered.

2. It could be a polyphonic pitch shifter that includes an arpeggiator/sequencer. This would also explain having a lot of knobs, stop and play, and a screen. Strymon currently doesn't have a pitch shifter type effect so that seems like something they might add to their line in the near future as a HOG/Pitchfactor competitor.

Holy crap a convolution reverb would be {censored}ing awesome.

Did you see the Profiling Amplifier?

Not quite a pedal but seymour duncan released a new "zephyr" series of pickups using pure silver wire

ZephyrSilverCoils.jpg

The highlight of the press release:

"Cryogenic Treatment of Pickup after final assembly
Permanently aligns crystal lattice of all materials and removes stresses introduced during manufacturing of raw materials and winding and final assembly of pickup

Normalizes internal structure of the magnet(s) for more consistent gauss strength across all strings and from unit to unit
Aligns internal structure of the magnet wire, further reducing losses and increasing efficiency of pickup"

A set can be yours today for the low low introductory price of (not kidding) $1,195
