Members Operator
does respect just mean you really like the records they put out and think they have good taste? or does it go further than that? there's a lot of labels that put out awesome {censored} i buy all the time, but i don't know that i can say respect runs deep with all of them. there's some underground metal labels, particularly black metal, that put out a bunch of {censored} i like, but often i think some of them are kind of sketchy people with some weird right wing world views that i don't really respect. i'm not talking about the full on white power stuff, i don't mess around with that, but i just mean some other more "grey area" type of outfits.there's other labels that don't fall under that, but which i have a pretty good idea are run by douchebags and put out tons of great records with great artwork. To clarify, I mean labels that engage in equitable and fair business with their clients, and curate a tasteful roster. People that care about music and also want to do business. Members misterstomach
I could be wrong, but I've heard that Southern Lord takes a piece of merch sales. Maybe through merch they sell through their website, but in my experience working for a southern lord band, this was not true.

Members Inertiatic_SKS
Deathwish, Sargent House and Hydra Head are my top 3 and Rise is slowly, but surely, getting better. Major props to them for re-releasing the old Poison the Well albums on vinyl, signing Terror, The Bled and making an effort to sign established hardcore/punk acts. Members Kap'n
Yep Roc Yep. They've got great artists, many of whom have done major label deals in the past, and know "How to get Shafted by Your Record Company 101" memorized. I'm pretty sure they're getting a fair shake. If I did my own material, and was twenty five years younger, I'd have a lot more trust with these guys than just about anybody.
