Are you sure you read it?: boards of canada use samplers, but it doesnt matter which ones, because usually they sample back things that they make via computers and live instruments, not preset sounds too much, i'm sure. they do use synths....if you have a good synth you can create their sounds easily. they are not very complex. i'm sure that they must use heavy amount of filters, compressors and such....they take natural piano, guitar, REAL drums, voices, and i'm sure many other things....anything really....they record it, and then mess with it all on computers to morph it into what they like. Members HeartfeltDawn
^^ Geez, you're going to pick on me and you can't even use Google to find this {censored} out yourself? He's fairly on it when it comes to synth sounds but the idea that it's all in 'the box' (which to me suggests it's all DAWs and plugins) isn't right. http://bocpages.org/wiki/Interviews-all#Emotional_Abuse Try this. A lot of info there about some of the tape machines they use. Given BOC's apparent allegiance to all things vintage, it should be no surprise that the duo eschews the use of software

I was just going off of what you referenced, of which the guy said BOC worked in the box.

Members Faldoe
I recall reading they use a Pitch Pirate for their Vibrato sounds....
Members fourfingered
This peaked my interests so I spent the evening and this morning messing around with compressors and the pitch vibrato on the m9, not perfect BoC but adding some anolog echo/wmod and = hours of looping fun.
