The Best of Slop Rock?

Recommended Posts

Ratty sounding electric guitars, a bit less than perfect drumming, devil-may-care vocals... but more hifi than Garage Rock, more melodic and hooky than Punk Rock, and likely to still sound good no matter the venue, the sound engineer, the equipment, or the number of beers consumed.

What are your picks by this definition?

Loose - The Stooges

Lean Woman Blues - T Rex

Lou Reed - Vicious

Rolling Stones - pretty much anything off Exile

My Bloody Valentine - pretty much all of Isn't Anything and the related e.p.s

Teenage Fanclub - Alcoholiday

Guided By Voices - yep

I saw this and thought it had to be about dudes that cover Ted Nugent at the county fair wearing cowboy hats and overalls. It turned out to be much cooler, though I'm not totally sure what we're talking about? I'm getting the feeling this mostly falls in mid 70's start of indie music - power-pop/proto-punk/glam - era with the next generation of early alt music thrown in?
