Sometimes there's a wait time for new product delivery, and some people just don't want to wait. If the demand for the product is high, and deliveries are slower than the demand, occasionally you'll see exactly that happen - the used pedals will go for a bit more than the brand new ones, simply because someone (or several someones ) has GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and can't wait the month or two (or whatever the wait time is) for a new one, and they bid up the auction price on the used one that they can get right away.
