Members Zachman
This is an effort to reverse bump the trolls threads, while adding some actual thought provoking ideas, as the Forum used to. [EDIT:] To Clarify: For the guys who have large and small setups, do you find that you use similar devices in both setups or do you go in a completely different direction with the smaller setup? Members tlbonehead
In my main band, I use the same setup (dual amp w/ Nomad 45 head and Vox AD60 head, plus an Oberheim GM-400 processor through both heads and some pedals mainly through the Mesa) whether we are play a 100 capacity club of an outdoor show for 1000 people of more. I also have a scaled-down band with guitar, bass, and programmed drums. For that I use my AD60VTX combo and most of the pedals from my full band setup. The PA is a LOT smaller for this act. Members thermionic geek
What is a small setup? I started my current band with a BOSS GT3 into Marshall JTM60. As we grew it changed into a rack with a Rocktron voodoo valve into a Pearce G1 for a power amp. Paired with a silverface bassman head modded with an effects loop also used as a power amp. marshall a 1960 and bassman 100 cabs. The JTM just could not cut it. Members Badside
I don't know, my big setup is Mark IV + 1960 cab + LP + Strat + Intellifex/Furman/Wireless (in a rack) + tuner + wah. What do you want me to take out? It doesn't take very long to set up.

Sounds like you have a great system there. VERY similar to the I had used for many years. Worked flawlessly for me too.

No reason I see that you should get grilled for this. That is what I was interested in. Sometimes I'll take the Super Reverb and use An MXR Dyna Comp, TU2 Tuner, Boss DD2 Delay and a overdrive, just depends. Sometimes less sometimes more. Here in Hawaii, If I am doing a Jazz gig or a Blues gig, the setup is very different than if I am doing a Rock gig. A Few weeks ago I played using a Line 6 2x12, sounded fine. [EDIT:]I think it's ridiculous that guys take issue, in a gear forum, with guys talking about their gear to each other. Ehh go figure.Have you noticed that the guys that usually make a issue of it are the guys who have less gear than they'd like though? I have. Did you know that if I hooked all the gear in my basement at the moment together and struck a Eb5 with gain on 10, I would blow out every window in the house?True story!
