Members blargh Posted December 30, 2006 Members Share Posted December 30, 2006 I agree....but the thing that bugs me is all the metal/metalcore/emo/screamo/hardcore kids and middle-age hair metal guys for whom there is no valid musical expression other than what they listen to. I like metal, but if it was the only thing I listened to, I'd get tired of it pretty damn quick If you're a musician, shouldn't it be your duty to listen to all kinds of music, to have a wide range of influences to draw from in your own music?Also, this forum likes to beat stuff into the ground. I used to be able to come here if I was interested in an amp or guitar and be able to get reliable information on the items in question. Not misinformation. Not someones who has never played a gig in their entire life telling me what is good or bad about said instruments. That used to be a REAL ATTRACTION of this forum. I miss that. Anyone can have an opinion, but a well formed opinion about a piece of musical gear and how it will fare in the way I intend to use it (gigging with it or recording with it) will require the knowledge gleaned only by playing or recording with bands. Generally overtime i've just stopped practicing and GASing over stuff. Bit of a shame. And a great majority of those who did "bitch", didn't "bitch" about the fact that there were mods now, they complained of the haphazard way that the modding was done. Clearly, the mod team had no idea that this forum would be as difficult to moderate as it was and is. Likely, even more so now. You're missing a few important pieces to your stupid puzzle you've put together. The mods were never *here* Their moderating this forum was done in a "drive by" like fashion. It was really retarded having some people punished and others got off without a word because whichever mod didn't see what went down...It also had to do with different moderators coming in here and some were more lenient than others. I believe the forum does need heavy moderation but I don't blame the mods for turning their back to this place after the mess they had to deal with last time they tried to clean up. You raise some good points here, riffy. Maybe we need to have some sort of self-rating system. Post a clip/video of you or your band playing in your sig or have people ignore your opinions? I dunno.
