Members Zachman
You thought wrong, very wrong. I too am a session player, But I wont brag, or tell tall tales outta school, there is no need, as if you really were in the market, you would know that r2d2 left the bldg. Just because I ended up in a lil rock band in AZ doesnt mean I started here, or have ended here. Only one facet of many styles. Calls come, and you are asked to be somewhere you cant haul that thing around, I know I did it to, in the early 90s and I loved it, but in the end, I settled for tube pureness, rather than rack gear. NOT saying racks arent great, I wont bag any gear. Im also not trolling you, Im just reminding you what you perhaps forgot a long time ago, that sound is like beauty, and is for the eye of the beholder to decide what is best. You set a great example to the younger player though, that or at least you wear your age on your sleeve... http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=102449863&blogID=324264214 Umm... Mmmkay what were you saying???? Oh hey look at the date of that article, WOW current from one of the top 10 session guys in the world, and wait what is that that he's using for his CURRENT session work??? A BIG outdated, according to you, nobody.... R2D2 rack... Guess r2d2 hasn't left the building after all... What do you know... Not a lot apparently. Of course IF you had paid attention on my site on the FAQ page, you'd have prevented yourself from looking like a moron. :poke: As far as sessions go: Yes calls come, and if I know the client, I choose appropriately what to bring, If I don't then hey I take the rig, and a few core amps to choose from. I prefer choices.

I also will not show you what you should already know, that the percentage of r2d2 users in the studio world, and hired guns, are very low.Again, Im not dogging racks as Im sure your set up sounds amazing.I just prefer a more modern, more tonal approach to guitar, something a little less processed and more pure. But again thats me, and only a opinion. What do I know?No one said I know anything, but Im not here to brag or get admiring fans, Im here to discuss amps. And although some of the kranks dont do it for me, Ive heard guys DESTROY with the same amp. This might tell a smart person that not everyone has the same taste when it comes to women, amps, or cars.I too prefer choices, and I like to have an open mind. Or 15 year olds My favorite part is that you are all WRONG!Do your homework before you post. It's a 100 watter, solid state (think valvestate;more affordable). This amp is obviously made for the entry level player who maybecan't afford a full blown tube "man" rig (kids!)I have played it and of course it doesn't sound like a full on tube amp.Business must be so bad for Krank that they now advertise on theBACK PAGE of Guitar World.I guess the boat anchor business is a money maker. And no Krank is no longer run by retarded monkeys, Jody works for RANDALL/US MUSIC now. The VH pic was of one of my guitars with a few others at a friends music store. sheesh somebody's reaching... Why didn't you post this one???as far as the guys who use the big rigs percentage being small, like I said Landau, easily in the top 10 in the world DOES use it, so... what does that tell me? It tells me that your comment about the r2d2 racks having left the building is ignorant, or obtuse. The cool thing about the big rack, and you're right it does sound amazing, is that you don't have to have all that stuff on all at the same time, for the ultra processed thing, if at all, but the choices that it allows has taught me that it's better to have more and not need it, than to need more and not have it. Members DyeMusica
And no Krank is no longer run by retarded monkeys, Jody works for RANDALL/US MUSIC now. LOL poor Jody...I met the guy a few times, hung out with him, and found him to be a hell of a nice guy, I even took him shooting once years ago...But I always wondered about the biz side of things...But I will stick to what I do know. Playing guitars and beating up amps, and although the ss or Krankenstien didnt do it for me, the rev1 and chadwick are top of line amps, and are excellent additions to my collection.I just got to mess around with the mini as well, and that thing is cool as hell..I swear by the rev1, that is a tough, tour abusing amp, that unlike other amps sounds the same every time I turn it on.I support Krank as they came up from a small biz and are now selling worldwide, having played em, known some guys that used to work there, Im proud of them for not only their gear but what they do for AZ in general. Members pink freud
every krank i've heard sounds just like another expressionless generic metal amp. no character, no individuality. of course that may also be because every time i hear one, its inevitably somebody playing through a guitar equipped with EMG 81s. My style of music??? I don't have ANY of my original music posted, and you'll notice that the Benatar music isn't mine, nor is the 2 session Marshall clips, My Boogie clip doing the Whitesnake stuff, or the Funk, R&B, or disco stuff. There is only 1 clip of my previous version rack rig posted. The rest are mostly plug and play. The Benatar stuff that you reference is a Marshall 6100 1/2 stack w/ the Black and white stripped guitar you hate, and a Boss CE2 chorus on one song, and a Dyna Comp for solos and a Intellifex for some reverb and delay... Hardly an over the top setup... I hope you would agree. The 2 examples I have up from Hawaii, are a Fuchs ODS and the guitar plugged straight in, again, hardly an outrageous setup. The Uncle you're referring to and I have done session work in LA w/ Mike Post, etc... Obviously, you're looking to bash me and keep end up looking like a clown. Stop already. When I post the pics of the other 37 vintage Gibson and Fender guitars (NOT re-issues), I'll be sure to PM you, so you can eat your words. Members JamesPeters
Of all of the comments on this thread, this is the 1 that makes me laugh the most.Oh, why you ask?Because it was Jody who wrote the fake reviews on this forum and guess who he works for now? That's rightRANDALL!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHA!Why do you think Amott went over there.Because Jody had them make his own signature amp even though it's only a V2 or whatever the hell they are called with custom "gingerclownninja" graphics.Too funny. Are you a Krank employee? I don't recall Jody ever being accused of being the one who posted the fake reviews before. When I spoke with him, he told me that happened before he was hired. And honestly, I thought he was a nice guy when I spoke with him. So if you have something personally against Jody, maybe explain why or you're just looking really bitter for no reason. And if you're a Krank employee, come clean and admit it. (Also, if you're a Krank employee, LET IT GO about Jody already. The Myspace thing about his leaving was tasteless enough.) PS. All your posts on this forum so far have been about Krank amps. Notice a trend, anyone? Should we still be blaming Jody for this too?
