Members 88mm
I have a Laney AOR ProTube 50. It has the push pull pots for the eq.My ? is... What can I do to change the bass pots sweep? With the bass pot "normal" and set at 10 it is not enough. But with the bass pot "pulled Boost on" and set at 0 it is too much. What can I do to either increase the bass on the normal or decrease the boost. Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Members rushtallica
I had the same problem on the AOR 100 I previously had. Solution = more volume and using a tube screamer to cut some low end while also helping the gain and/or eq pedal in loop to cut some bass. Prob w/ volume solution = place to play with that much volume. Bump for possibly better help. ^
Members ComingApart
i wish i had an answer for you, but i know exactly the issues you're talking about.Mine can be the same way.If it helps, and band volumes it's not a problem at all, it really only exists at lower volumes.so {censored}in' crank it! Members pezguy
It is just the way the AOR series is designed. At low (bedroom) volume the base boost circuit swamps the tone. That boost is designed to run when the master is up beyond 10:00. It could be modified I suppose....solution: PLAY LOUDER
Members knucklefux
that would be an in depth mod, and if there's actually a bass boost that means there's some SS activity in that particular part of the circuit...put an EQ in the loop and be done with it. Members 88mm
I play it pretty loud at home. I set the amp up for some "bouncy" cleans w/ a touch of dirt. the bass is just a touch too boomy. I was hoping it would be a simple cap or resistor change on the bass pot. Members PuppyKicker
I had kinda of the same problem with my sovtek mig 60. at lower volumes the lowend, even set really low, was just crazy. But after I crank it up, that problem seems to go away. I know thats not really much help to you, seeing that its not even the same :idk:

Members Oops-A-Paisley
I had an AOR30 , was my first valve amp in ~1985 Used a TS9 as a boost at low volume and never had an issue. Friends of mine in a band "Marshall Law" (I kid not) recorded their first demo at a place in Lichfield, the amp they used was a AOR30 cranked and mic'd up in a booth. Great little amp.
