Members thinkpad20
hate to be a broken record, but 5150, no contest. eXTreMe Bro0TalItY However, the Peters is a close second, and considering it has an awesome clean channel, it's a better amp overall IMO. But it also costs twice as much... Diezel Herbert too...
Members glenecho
You know where my vote is going on this. Having said that the ENGL may have overall more gain on tap but the P-ball I tried (which I liked by the way) had absolute sludge {censored}ing hell ridiculous amounts of gain. For usable bat{censored}-crazy chug and metal yumi-ness teh Peters Chimera. Haven't tried the Mako so I couldn't take that one into consideration. Members mhenson42
He did!! I've sold 2. Dis be my third Fiyabahl Shred-o-holic got my second one when it was merely a few weeks old. I feel it does pwn the Uber at half the price - when you throw an EQ in the loop. I'd imagine even moreso with the ISP sub.

I told you not to do it when you sold your first one. :poke: glad your back. I tried the EQ thing...its ok. I can boost the 1.6 a bit more to get some smoother leads but the NS-2 straight in the front is tight city! Honestly wish they'd make a Phiyabawl 100 /

Members Chrisjd
+1 to the OP...the K tre is not brootal enough for your tastes? no, it certainly is, I just didn't want to put all my amps on there. I wanted to leave room for a few different ones.
Members Chrisjd
Honestly wish they'd make a Phiyabawl 100 /120 Doesn't the powerball sound about EXACTLY the same?
Members mhenson42
I don't mide it being a 60 watt since I mostly play it at lower volume. I just use the eq when turning the volume up so it doesn't thin out as much. I use the 1st side of my ISP pro rack g in front - but not in the loop. It's pretty quiet. Members NixerX
Doesn't the powerball sound about EXACTLY the same? Actually no. The Fireball is more brootal IMHO. theres something else about it too that I can describe and it coincides with the fireball's simplicity VS the Pball. Dryer...more chuggy...IDK
Members PurityS.L.G.
No. The fireball pwns the powerball. IMO. I've had them side by side several times. Indeed. The FB sounds more open and doesn't have nearly as much of those famous ENGL highs as the rest of the line. IMO, it gets as punishing as a 5150 but with more emphasis on the upper mids and not as buzzy sounding.
Members mhenson42
^that and less "solid-state" sounding than the PB.
Members Chrisjd
I have never played a fireball. Hmm. I don't think I would buy one simply because I have all my bases covered right now, but it sure would be fun to play one.
Members P. Wallace
I voted for 5150, I've never even played a 5150 - I hope they suck. I just don't want people to know that the Pittbull is truely the most brutal of all amps. Vote 5150! :lem:
