Members chuckgp
Do yourself a favor and upgrade to VISTA. Will it make my machine 'faster than ever before' like XP did?I like it because it never crashes, with 98 it was restart several times a day or crash, but what is this slow {censored}? Members OverDriven
I don't really get the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" thing. They are now BOTH PC's. They both run intel chips on the x86 architecture. It's just a difference of operating systems.
Members HKSblade1
IDk, I have Sonar 8 on a Q6600 with XP and used the optimization tools from Cakewalk and it never crashes. Before I did the optimizing, the cpu usage was high. It runs maybe 12% with many plugs, midi, and well over 16 track playback. Highest I had was 26 tracks before any real system lag. But that is playback. Recording, is a different story. On a good day I can do a drum kit with 8-9 tracks. Any more than that, I use the VS recorder and import to Sonar. I don't use my audio recording rig to do internet or other programs.

Some boost when going Intel. I'm pleased mac can't claim but 15% of the market share. For this very reason, virus protection isn't needed. Not even a hiccup so far on my macbook after 2 years. I dunno, maybe I'm just lucky. I can't say the same for our 1 year old pc. Honestly, the wife and I are ready to just throw it in the trash....And no, I don't surf porn on it, just pay bills. Go ahead and tell me I'm a stuck up mac user, payed too much for it, etc.
