Members RaceU4her
I had a 1990 Ford Escort GT, I used to fit (2) 4x12's, and a 12 space rack on wheels in there, plus my guitars. That thing was impressive. i was just going to chime in and say i can fit a half stack in my escort with ease
Members drewl
I had an 86 and 91 Hatchback and like I said could fit a halfstack with ease, no way I'm screwing up the Cobra....besides I have an Econoline for gear.

Members DirtyBird
Obviously you're talking about the bloated SN95s. My Fox LX pulled 14.6 bone stock. With the offroad H, headers, and other very minor mods, I was almost breaking into 13s.Ah... the joys of a light car with a V8.... My 3300 lb sled is gonna break 13's this year... but if my drivetrain were in a Fox I think I could be knocking on 12's.

Members guitarbilly74
hey unrelated question... is it ok to use regular gas on this car or does it need a higher oct rating? I drove a car with a very small engine all my life so I have no idea?

Members Mesa/Kramer
The V6 and even the GT's are all tuned to run on regular Octane. The Super will only be a waste of Money. The only way you would get better performance with the super would be if you re-tuned it to run on the higher octane.

Members guitarbilly74
I'm telling you - you CAN get a 4x12 in a 98 (SN95) mustang. Put the passenger seat back all the way down (reclined). Bring the cab in on edge, and lay it 'back-down' on the seat, caster towards the dash. It will be sitting on the seat back, the console, and the seat bottom, up against the dash. I drove about 6-8 miles like that, gritting my teeth all the way. Definitely not recommended for longer hauls, but it DOES fit. I was actually more worried about my leather than the cab. Bumping this thread to say THANKS!!!! Just finished packing my gear in the car for tonight's gig and this worked perfectly!!
Members Ironhandjohn
I wrapped my Redbear 4x12 in a poncho and tied it to the roof of my Honda Accord once. Not optimum, but I had to get it back from Guttermouth's somehow.

Members mamberg
Bumping this thread to say THANKS!!!! Just finished packing my gear in the car for tonight's gig and this worked perfectly!! glad it worked for you - even though I did it that way before, I recently drove from Philly to NYC to get an avatar 4x12, and tried the take-out-the-seat thing. It worked perfectly. The cab barely fit through the door (had to put the top in first), but after it was sitting a couple of blankets (to cover the bolts sticking up through the floor), it fit perfectly. The seatbelt even reached over and latched, holding it in position perfectly. The seat came out in just a few minutes - two 15mm bolts and two 15mm nuts were all that held it in.I would do it that way again if/when I have to move another.
