Members solarburn
What JJ's did you have that lasted? Even the guys (online stores) that sell these tell me to avoid them cause of the failure rate from batch to batch. I like the KT-77's and the 34L's. I've got Winged =C='s, Tung Sol, Ruby BSTR's, KT-77's, EL34L's and NOS RFT EL34's.I'd take the 6CA7EH's over all of them. For reliability the Winged =C='s seem to be the best but I don't think they sound the best. Solid tubes though. I prefer the 6CA7's and second I'd take the JJ El34L's for the tone. Just wish they had a better track record...

Members guitarded_1
For all you guys liking the Ruby BSTR, try the BHT. Same basic tone, but more rugged construction. I thought they smoked the SED in a Shiva I had.
Members ~Abstract~
I think it's a little too circuit dependant to say what the best tube is for every el34 amp. Some amps like certain tubes...some dont.
