Members mike moriarty
I forgot to mention the reason I was pulled over was because I was texting while driving (the girl I had the argument with), causing me to swerve.

Members missingastring
Were you also texting while taking the sobriety tests? That might help your case.
Members missingastring
You could also claim that you were just "texting out loud" when you said the n-word.

Members missingastring
You could always use the "jerking off while sexting and driving" defense. Blue balls hurt. Enough men on the jury and you'll at least get a mistrial.
Members mike moriarty
I was kind of hoping to get more responses from people whove actually been through a similar experience. If I wanted to get grilled I would have stayed at the police station.
Members telephant
For future reference, the best way to break the ice with a cop is to ask him if he likes to party.

Members mbarn3065
You should have taken the breathalyzer test, even if you would have failed it! That way you wouldn't have lost your drivers license for 6 months! Don't expect any sympathy from anyone. Just take your lumps like a man. If this is your first DUI just get a lawyer and he will get you a plea bargain. It is usually two years probation, a two day drunk driving class, $500. fine + court costs ($300.) You usually can keep your license, but only to drive to and from work for a year.
Members DeadNight Warrior
No. You have the right to refuse the test. The only thing is you get your license suspended for 6 months instead of 1 month. If I was made aware of that at the time I would have taken it, as I need a vehicle to get to work. That is one strike for the police officers.Well, they probably did tell you, but you were just so drunk that you don't remember it.

Youre right I should have. I did not know refusing it would result in an automatic 6 month suspension. It was the cops job to inform me of this, which they didnt do. If they had I would have taken it.
