Anybody have any experiences with DUI's? Advice?

You should have taken the breathalyzer test, even if you would have failed it!
That way you wouldn't have lost your drivers license for 6 months!

Don't expect any sympathy from anyone.

Just take your lumps like a man.

If this is your first DUI just get a lawyer and he will get you a plea bargain.
It is usually two years probation, a two day drunk driving class, $500. fine + court costs ($300.)
You usually can keep your license, but only to drive to and from work for a year.

No. You have the right to refuse the test. The only thing is you get your license suspended for 6 months instead of 1 month. If I was made aware of that at the time I would have taken it, as I need a vehicle to get to work. That is one strike for the police officers.



Well, they probably did tell you, but you were just so drunk that you don't remember it. :idk:

Youre right I should have. I did not know refusing it would result in an automatic 6 month suspension. It was the cops job to inform me of this, which they didnt do. If they had I would have taken it.
