Members IPlayMetronome
Unreleased track from Crack the Skye is . Still dig it as an album, though its my least favorite but kinda hoping they keep this Remission vibe for the next album. Members RSBro
I'm hoping they DONT go back to that mindless, bashing, pointless style of writing but they might. They don't necessarily need another "concept" album but something between Blood Mountain and CtS would be best.
Members NixerX
I thought the CTS was their best. Will listen to that a little later...im deep in "Last Chance to Reasons" Level 2 at the moment.

Members Hotcakes
This song is one that didn't make it on crack the skye, I believe, so not really indicative of future stuff

Will listen to that a little later...im deep in "Last Chance to Reasons" Level 2 at the moment. And now I have a new sweet prog band to listen to! Missed the boat on these guys, checking out Level 2 now. I just see Mastodon as a live band and CTS just doesn't seem to deliver live, its a great recording and the song writing is great but it doesn't grab my attention riff wise like everything's too subtle. I'm not one of those "Remission>everything else" guys, I think Blood Mountain is their best, but I miss that crushing, stupid, heaviness.
Members Unstrung
Would like to see more Remission type awesomeness.
Members FastRedPonyCar
Such an amazing video This. CTS was actually the first album of theirs that I listened to though I had heard one or two other tracks from blood mountain and remission. I like CTS the best. Members co&cafan808
I'm hoping for something along the lines of Crack the Sky, one of my favorite albums.
Members madrigal77
CTS is one of the best metal albums of the last decade. They should continue along those lines. Song in the OP kind of sucks IMO but the video is cool.

Members ruppert240
{censored}in' brootalz guys, how do they work? I don't mind Mastadon's old stuff but CTS was a big step in the right-direction for them. It's a much more mature cohesive record
Members Chippy
They sound like a garage band. Are they a garage band?
Members RSBro
They sound like a garage band. Are they a garage band? They were on Remission. Blood Mtn and CtS changed that. Hence the comment about going back to being n--bs again.
Members RSBro
This PWNS all the more recent material: If you hate the basic idea and structure of a good song, then yes.
Members madrigal77
Yeah, sorry, but their older stuff sucks. Leviathan and Blood Mountain have some good songs here and there, but CTS is their only album that's good all the way through.
Members RSBro
Yup.I like MOTFA and Hearts Alive and the few other bits here and there but as far as solid albums go, CtS is about it.
Members Unstrung
HCAF, I am disappoint. Big surprise that the leader of this thread's anti metal with balls movement plays in a band that sounds like Godsmack.
