NEVER forget the day I finally had enough. 1957 Fender Strat original pickguard, 2500.00. No pickups, no nothing, just a piece of plastic for 2500.00. The booth had several other items similar to what Billy posted. Made me physically sick to my stomach and disgusted. I have owned literally hundreds of vintage guitars, just about everything except original Korina Gibsons, and a 59 Les Paul Standard Sunburst. I still have some vintage stuff, but go more ofr obscure, and handmade stuff on the used market. The market took a GIANT hit when the stock market fell, HUGE hit. Glad I got out, it is a den of thieves, scumbags, opportunists, and outright criminals faking stuff. I still watch stuff, just can't ever be on that side again.
