5150 II and equalizer problems, PLEASE HELP.

But there's one thing that nobody said anything about. Could the outlets have ANYTHING to do with this??

 

 

Your amp is gonna draw more power than the eq would though. Unless the outlet itself is shorting out. It's worth a try, run power from somewhere else..

Another thing to look for is level. Use your bypass button and listen to make sure your bypassed signal and you eq'ed signal are not too far off from each other level wise.


Use your over all master volume on the eq to make any adjustments.

 

 

rack EQs are not true bypass, it won't make a difference.

One other possibility that could cause intermittent fx loop volume loss, especially with Peaveys: Dirty effects loop jacks.

 

If you haven't done so already, try plugging in and out a number of times a patch cable into both the fx loop in and out jacks and then plug up the eq as normal and see if there's still a problem. Also, this may be worth trying on the input and output jacks of the eq, itself, as well.

I thought about that, but his delay (I assume it's a pedal) worked perfectly through the loop, so the loop is probably fine.
