Members Warhorse
The volume is the same eq'ed as it is with the bypass button on. If that's what you're asking. hmm, okay.
Members chrisd1000912
But there's one thing that nobody said anything about. Could the outlets have ANYTHING to do with this??
Members Warhorse
But there's one thing that nobody said anything about. Could the outlets have ANYTHING to do with this?? Your amp is gonna draw more power than the eq would though. Unless the outlet itself is shorting out. It's worth a try, run power from somewhere else.. Members guitarbilly74
Okay, the delay worked perfectly fine in the loop. Your amp is fine then. And so is the EQ. They're just not compatible.
Members guitarbilly74
So would my rack eq not work at all through a guitar amp?? Some guitar amps have a -10/+4dB switch on the loop. But the 5150 doesn't and won't work with your EQ.
Members guitarbilly74
Another thing to look for is level. Use your bypass button and listen to make sure your bypassed signal and you eq'ed signal are not too far off from each other level wise. Use your over all master volume on the eq to make any adjustments. rack EQs are not true bypass, it won't make a difference.
Members chrispsullivan
Why the {censored} would you need a 31 band EQ for guitar anyways?
Members rushtallica
One other possibility that could cause intermittent fx loop volume loss, especially with Peaveys: Dirty effects loop jacks. If you haven't done so already, try plugging in and out a number of times a patch cable into both the fx loop in and out jacks and then plug up the eq as normal and see if there's still a problem. Also, this may be worth trying on the input and output jacks of the eq, itself, as well.
Members chrisd1000912
I've cleaned my effects loop jacks with electrical cleaner, and that wasn't it. The only answer that makes any sense is that the eq and head aren't compatible. Thanks for the help everyone!

I thought about that, but his delay (I assume it's a pedal) worked perfectly through the loop, so the loop is probably fine.
