Members DoubleBarrel
This and Sweet Child in Time.I thought you meant GnR, Sweet Child of Mine God I hate that solo with the bruning passion of a thousand firey suns. For the record, the DP song is just "Child in Time".....there is no "sweet" in the title. Great song, although I think John Lord rocks harder on that one more than Blackmore did. JMHO.
Members guitarbilly74
whoa I can't choose one... off the top of my head Zakk Wylde - Miracle Man, 10,000 Miles Away, Shine On, Cry Me A River Gilmour - Time, Comfortably Numb Sykes - Still of the Night Moore - Oh Pretty Woman Blackmore - Highway Star Dime - Psycho Holiday Hammet - One (1st clean solo - come at me bros, it's {censored}ing awesome). EVH - Ice Cream Man in no particular order - these are all all-time favorites...
Members rushtallica
Uli Jon Roth, I'll Be There, song is meh, ending solo is beyond epic.Exactly! Uli is amazing. I really wish he would've had another vocalist stand in his place through his solo albums, but if you get past that there's a lot of inspired playing. Get to around 1:36 for the solo. He was definitely a monster with the Scorps, as well.
Members goslats
I don't recognize most of the musicians mentioned here but, that won't stop me from talking about The Early Beatles defining a Liverpool lead guitar sound and then continuing on to Something and Come Together. Wonderful tone and just plain musical in a big way. Anybody here that was playing guitar in the late 60's that has loved John Fogerty or Neil Young's Down By The River Leads please stand up now and be counted! Members Killa J
The outro on Comfortably Numb pretty much gives me goosebumps every time. That said, Paul Gilbert plays a sort of shred solo inspired by that solo, and it's my favorite "shred" solo.It starts at 1:54. The rest of the video is awesome too, but the solo at the end is sick. Members rushtallica
I didn't vote Limelight along with the OP because that's the obvious one for me. And Ty Tabor's another one. :phil: Not my favorite soloist of all time, but Devin's put together some really good solos, some technical and others just simply great the way they fit and progress the songs. Members Bucksstudent
As a musician, I find it's difficult to pin down one particular solo. It's like studying literature and trying to tell someone what your favorite book is. You tell a lot about yourself from that selection, and most people assume you judge all other things in that medium by your favorite. There are many favorites... "Television Man," - Talking Heads, "Marquee Moon," - Television, "Friction," - Television, "The Wrong Heartbeat," - Richard Thompson, "2112" - Rush, "Camera" - R.E.M., "Sacred Songs," - Daryl Hall, "Over the Mountain," - Ozzy, etc, etc, etc.
Members kdcprhc
Kirk Hammett - The God That Failed, Ride the Lightning, No Leaf Clover Joe Walsh and Don Felder - Hotel California Jake E. Lee - Killer of Giants Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made of Sand, Little Wing, Bold As Love, Drifting (it's more of a instrumental outro than a solo but it rules)

Members the_gunslinger
A lot of my favorites have already been posted, so I'll add:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypYkkDwJBxw [video=youtube;Ujga-3p21xY]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ujga-3p21xY [video=youtube;g-Z_6_iZnJw]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-Z_6_iZnJw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EL67mjv1nM It's so hard for me to pick from Savatage, there is so much great stuff, but I pick this one because it's what really got me into these guys in the first place. Wish the audio was better on this one, Criss just kills it. Members wrongnote85
idk, i like a lot of trey azagthoth solos. i think they're pretty catchy and can hum a lot of them, like the solo in "dominate" or the solo in "were the slime live", but i don't think that's normal.
