An oil portrait of me with my Archtop Tenor Uke!

My good friend Sonny Williams painted this! He's primarily a poet, writer, editor and imbiber of good, strong drink, but lately he's started painting.

This is the second portrait I've had done, but my first as a musician. And this is probably the first of the uke.

Here's a cool knife painting of a pineapple he did over the weekend.

Sounds like my kinda guy :thu:

Very cool portrait Stack--did you actually sit for it or did he do it from memory? I used to be an artist's model, and I don't miss having random body parts fall asleep

He did it from memory and photos and vids, I guess. Not sure that I could sit still that long with a uke. :)

Your buddy is very talented.

This coming from a hack wannabe artist. I am a hack, but I am good enough to realize how bad I am, but good enough to recognize talent from an "insiders" perspective.

Your buddy has alot of raw natural talent.

The pineapple is exceptional.

Makes me think back to my college days in engineering...had to take an art appreciation class...

I can appreciate that art...very nice. I want one.

I've seen your real life pics on other sites. He captured you well.

Congrats:thu:
