Members Tralfaz
Hadn't seen this one before. Quite interesting. Belated thanks, Freeman, for your work on this!
Members bransonb
Nice work, Freeman. Say, would you consider adding the Larry Cragg hybrid pin set of three water buffalo horn and three ebony pins to your comparison? http://www.vintageinstrumentrental.com/acou_bridge_pin_sets.htm?PHPSESSID=e47b60a6533d7e178b55e33607eeb53f&PHPSESSID=b30f161e710629a753000f0d3727022d

Members C70man
I put brass pins on a Guild D25....really brightened up a normally dark warm mahogany guitar.....definitely a difference over bone...
Members Grant Harding
I did a bunch of unscientific tests with my Yamaha acoustic. It's got slotted bridge holes like the one in the test, so I was able to swap pins on the fly without re-tuning. My thoughts at the end of it were that with no pins it sounded bright and with heavy pins it had much more bass and less sparkle. The best sounding result to me was heavy pins in strings 4,5,6 and no pins in 1,2,3. That's just one specific guitar, but I can completely understand why light plastic pins in a Martin with lots of bass would be the best option. I'm not interested in arguing about whether pins make a difference BTW, because they do.
