Members kwcsports
I just got a new agile al2000 today. It is pretty nice for being 150 bucks, but I would like to try different pickups. I play classic rock and blues mostly thru a AD30. Any suggestions would be great.

Members Brewski
Seymour Duncan: Jazz in the neck and JB in the Bridge - this is the combo the pros use in their LP's these days. Seems like they're made for LP's BTW - sell me your AL2000 PUPs - I just love those those things!!

Members powerplayj
check out www.highorderpickups.com After going through two sets of pickups (Bill Lawrence, GFS), the High Orders win hands down.
Members blinz
My favorite Les Paul pickups are a Rio Grande BBQ Bucker in the bridge and Rio Grande Genuine Texas in the neck.
Members jrfan
I changed out the ceramic magnets for alnico v's in the stock pickups on my al2000.They sound great to me through a modeler or my Carvin tube amp. It's a pretty cheap experiment before you drop 100+ on a set of duncans. These are what I used and they fit fine.https://www.shop.wymoreguitars.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=
Members necrotic_vision
i had a jb/59 in my edwards sykes, the jb was uncontrollably chimey with a bunch of highs that couldnt be dialled out without completely zeroing the upper frequencies on my 5150s eq. the 59 is totally average as well, no output, not very smooth and boring clean... the jb has far too distinct a tone to be as versatile as every cock{censored}ting forumer makes out, and the 59 is just a run of the mill low output humbucker. try something from the dimarzio stable (super distortion/paf pro), or at least a duncan distortion set. Actually it was very easy. The pickups are heavily wax potted so I loosened the screws that hold the boobins on to the baseplate to make it easier to remove the magnets. I also left the pickup covers off and just used a hair dryer to melt the excess wax and wiped it off with a paper towel. Make sure you get the polarity correct, but you already know that. Tone is so subjective but I like the improvement.
