Members u6crash
I've been sketching this quite a bit lately. It's sort of a cross between an SG and a Hagstrom Impala, which is what inspired the hook thing at the bottom of the body. Yay or nay? What would you do different? There are some refinements I'd like to make in the body curves as it is hard to get it right on such a small scale.
Members Mighty Coogna!
Looks good to me, maybe make the headstock match the body a little more. Kind of reminds me of a Coronado.
Members BootRoots
That jut out of the bottom looks familiar to me. can someone plase help figure where I have seen that before.
Members Mr.Mow
Hmmm... The headstock is a little 'polite' for me.. Its like it wants to be flamboyant and party but is holding back.. Its cool, but just needs a little kick in the balls!
Members jrkirkish
Personally, Make the bottom 'sweep' a little more pronounced, and do another headstock. The bottom half of the heatstock looks alright, then it just goes:freak:
Members dysfunction
The rest of the guitar looks "metal," but the headstock looks "Fender..." The headstock should definitely be pointy. All hail the pointy headstocks!
Members InterpolJaguar
The hook at the bottom kind of reminds me of Fernandes Ravelle. I'd make a 3-on-a-side headstock and a Gibson Control Layout. What bridge are you going to use?

Members Brian Krashpad
I like the body style. 3-a-side headstock would look better to me though. BK

Members chevette
It's cool the way it is, cuz it's original.
Members chikinpox
The body should be offset more like an ESP Viper to match the downward slope of the headstock.
Members OrvilleGibson
Looks like potential balance problems - neck dive like most SG-based designs. Go thick on the body and 3+3 tuners on the head.
Members u6crash
Thanks for all your input, I'll defintely take your suggestions into consideration. Some of the thoughts I had after reading your comments: I might look better with a 6 in line headstock if the top of the body weren't so close to symmetrical. I'm a little surprised that a couple of you wanted the headstock to be more "bold" or different. I felt like I was going out on a limb the way it was. It also is more remniscent of that Samick Cobra than I'd like, but I wasn't familiar with that guitar beforehand. This is what got me started: As far as the bridge, I drew it here with a Hipshot hardtail, but early sketches had a TOM w/ stop tailpiece. Nothing is definite. Thanks again for the fresh eyes. Maybe I'll post some revisions later on.
Members voerking
i was thinking that the upper horn should be extended (like on the hagstrom). it would help the guitar balance better, and it would look cool.

Members u6crash
Here's an updated take on it. I've offset the horns and drawn the point at the bottom in a different fashion. The controls are a little different as well. I took the Gibson layout (more or less) and replaced a volume pot with the 5-way switch. The body looks too long here, so I'll keep tinkering with it. Maybe I just need to pull up some of the weight on the sides of the lower bout. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
Members xspace
I prefer the first design. It looks more wicked...
Members feintguitarist
The first body style is best IMO. It would look perfect with a Gibson, or in this case a ESP styled 3 x 3 headstock I think.
