Members GAS Man
I mean, I'm at 45 (edit: guitars) and still always drooling over a half dozen that I don't have. I've got big charges on my MasterCard, and at least 2 revolving "no interest" store cards with sizable balances. I've tried the 12 step program, but that only ends me up with twelve new pieces of gear. Should I try hookers?

Members Alchemist
Well to me, its a matter of finding a few guitars that you are totaly in love with. If you have those, then other guitars just dont do that much.

Members Sparky6string
Learn to appreciate what you have and work on your playing. Write songs, start a band, learn new covers, work on theory. These things work for me.

Members GAS Man
Man, that's tempting. It is in great shape. I bought it from "Weatherboy". No mars at all and an excellent pro-set and graph tech saddles. But it does need the potentiometer mod to open up its tone a bit more. hmmmmmm It is the walnut color though. That could be a turn off if you were wanting the classic black.
Members umpteen
Sell almost all of them and put the money into an IRA. If you are maxing out credit cards at age 45 thats a bad sign -- you are going to need that money for retirement!

If you are maxing out credit cards at age 45 thats a bad sign -- you are going to need that money for retirement! No no, I'm not 45. That's the guitar count. And no, I'm not maxing out my credit cards. Most of my guitar stuff is paid off. But when I see a No interest, No payments for 12 month deal, it does help suck me in. I think I owe MF about $800 and about $3k to M123. So about $300 per month in gear payments. I only put {censored} on my main credit card when they don't offer the financing deals, and then I pay it off that month. $400 a month going to a 457 plan plus also paying for 21 years into a 401(a) plan. So not totally retarded. Here's the deal. When you have to go into long-term care, it cost about $6,000 a month. They take all your income including your house to pay for the services. But they don't look at your guitars. (personal possessions) So I figure, when I'm sick of them feeding me oatmeal for the 8th day in the row, I'll sell of a guitar so I can add a bit of meat to the diet. It's called a 401(g) plan. A way to "beat the bastards".

Members aclarke
Take every guitar and put a tag on it (or on the case), and write today's date. Every time you take one out of the case, write the date. Take a look in 4 months, and get rid of the ones you don't play at all/often.
Members Rocko_19
i think you should start a "provide the poor struggling musicians foundation" or simply "PPSMF" and help us people who are forced to play with a piece of card-board with strings attached to it. if i was in your shoes i know thats what i would do:thu:
