Members barny15
I like your setup. I'm closing on a house in the next couple of months and plan to build a control room and a tracking room in the basement. Any basic tips or hints? Members gregovertone
budget budget budget. use many isolated outlets, and try to have a lot of power on tap. i believe i went tempered 1/2" glass for now, and will add another later for more isolation. it's not perfect, but it's fun, and i'm having a blast so far. you can get as carried away as you want, so i'm moving in baby steps. Phil O'Keefe
still working. no corner traps yet. my free labor has been busy Nice... very nice. Please tell us a bit more about your use of the moving blankets. I notice you have part of one wrapped around the snare mic - how are you holding it up? Do you set your cymbal stands on top of it too? How about on the kick - draped directly over it or...?
Members gregovertone
that was the first time i played with the moving blankets. that kids kick was ridiculous.22x26. a long cannon. it was really taking over the other mics, so i tried draping the blanket. it provided the separation they wanted. the snare is a piece of auralex foam wrapped around a beyer 201. the bleed was insane, so we tried that. too much of a pain. it didn't stay long.
