Members tele62
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin Roger Waters - Amused To Death Sea Sick Steve - Doghouse Music Waters' solo stuff is highly underrated, and Joe Bonamassa may well be the finest guitarist in the whole world. Members roygbiv
"Cease to Begin" by Band of Horses.Nothing guitar-wise to influence me, but its got some of the best songwriting that I've heard in a long time. The lead singer's voice just kills me every time...it's been locked into my CD player for about two months now. That's a good one. You have the first album? Also recommended. And if you like BoH, also try My Morning Jacket.
Members Geeter
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle, Vol. 1 I had this on cassette years ago and picked it up recently again. What an amazing band.
Members roygbiv
I dug the Panda Bear, Spoon, and Les Savy Fav albums from 2007. But, given this is a guitar forum, I'll go with Wilco's Skybluesky.
Members rainvalorx
Without a doubt Blackbird by Alter Bridge. I didn't care for their first album very much, but this second one is great. I think having Myles Kennedy helping to write the songs really improved the band. yes, I love that album. I love atreyu's new album. listen to it almost everyday. Members bloolight
That's a good one. You have the first album? Also recommended. And if you like BoH, also try My Morning Jacket. I got "Everything All the Time" after "Cease to Begin", but it didn't quite hit me the same way. I think they had Bridwell's voice recorded way too tinny on that one...still, there are a few songs on that first album that are absolutely killer. "St Augustine" is my personal favorite. I need to look up My Morning Jacket, since I keep hearing about how similar the vocals are.

Members Mr Songwriter
Not strictly speaking a studio album, but I bought a JJ Cale compilation called 'Any way the wind blows' last year, there are loads of great tracks on it, very few duds, especially with it being a double CD. Members samuraiBSD
hmm...In Rainbows, and nah, not really. Best album I bought that I learned songs from was probably "Cocktails and Dreams" by The Lawrence Arms
Members salmonator
"Fear of a Blank Planet" by Porcupine Tree "Snakes and Arrows" by Rush "Systematic Choas" by Dream Theater "Hospital Music" by Matthew Good "Zeitgeist" by the Smashing Pumpkins Possibly others, these all stick out in my mind as being of particular importance though because I saw every single one of these bands on tour this year supporting their new albums. Members cratz2
I think On An Island was the only CD I bought in 2007. I think I probably got another 6 or so as gifts. I definitely dig the CD, but I haven't really tried to learn anything off of it.
