Members Jkater
Paul Kossof had also the reputation of saying much with fewer notes. I don't know about "one" note. That seems a little thin to say anything. In spoken language, the most famous single words to say much are "yes" and "no". If you add a context then a single word can take huge meanings. In music it's the same. the harmony behing the note will give it a new power.
Members phil47uk
If one does not understand the meaning of that statement, then it really is irrelivant. Listen to an actor like anthony Hopkins deliver a line, then listen to a car auctioneer. It may then become a little clearer. It all boils down to whom you want to impress and what their interpretation of being impressed is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaTgLA73O-o&feature=related
Members Brian Krashpad
I've been looking for a chord that induces women to remove their clothing. Using my wife as a test subject, I've been a complete failure. Singing British in her ear has proven to have nearly a 100% success rate, however. Don't introduce me to yer wife, mate. Members scolfax
The note from the first guy in that quote is around 2:06 of this clip: And compare it to the entire solo from the second guy: You know, I think both solos said the same thing: "wow, Gilmour is awesome"
Members Minitruth
One of the guitarists I hung out with last night teaches and was telling memost of his students can't play with any feeling. He said he can teach themsongs and licks, but he can't make them feel it. Said most of them just wantto learn to sweep pick arpeggios at just the speed where they fail miserably. He asked me who my fave guitarist was, I said David Gilmour and he gave mea thumbs up and said "stick with that". Members DADGADammit
I think that's a quote by Jeff Beck comparing Malmsteen and Gilmour. That one note solo from Cinnamon Girl still gives me chills Here's my vote for the one note at 3:35 into it, but there are a lot of good ones over the next 2 minutes from then on.FDskym_V1GI

Members leopardstar
ahhh the beauty of an un-compressed guitar into a marshall stack turned all the way up. but when I think about people saying a lot with few notes, I think carlos santana or better yet david gilmore.
