Members Mikeo
I'm not that fancy of a drummer or a very good one. But I try when I'm not play the guitar or other fretting stringed instruments. If you have seen it before, sorry in advance. Members Dendy Jarrett
Im not a great drummer either (if drummers were judging), but musicians love my playing.I play for the music with as minimal fills as necessary. Just good, solid time. 2 and 4 baby ... D
Members twosticks
Learned early on that "Less is more": Meaning that sometimes, it's the notes that you don't play that are the one's that build up the anticipation and wow factor. A drummer that overplays is much like the guitarist that "Noodles" all the time during a song or the singer that "Day-Oh's" "Baby's" or "Oh Yeah's" Too much! In that hell raising country bar out in the woods, give 'er hell! But in the corner coffee shop, bar or smaller venue, might keep it down a bit? Members 1001gear
Lost a post in here but essentially, the guy is not incorrect. I put it that way because music isn't all 4/4 dance gigs and worse the number of good enough pop drummers who don't make a living is probably far greater than the total number of fusion posers. I think it's bad education to blind drummers to the possibilities of rhythm and complete musicality. I think the goal should be for young musicians to have a deep understanding of their craft and not just a sense of what and who to cop.
