Members danbronson
I inquired about this thing today, my dealer quoted me $3900 CAD. Doesn't that seem a little ridiculous?
Members Alchemist
Thats too high, you can get them used in great shape for $1900 CDN, and you should be able to get it for around $3200 new, unless prices shot way up since last summer:freak: FWIW, I love that amp, sounds awesome, and seems to be very well built. Members scooped-mids
for that price you could buy a wall of 5150's:cool:
Members danbronson
There's only one on ebay and it's at almost $3000 (with cab) already.

Members JonathanLA
Because there's alot of components inside it? oh wait..
Members Cougar Hunter
because, sealed pots are like $20/ a piece. oh wait, that's like a couple hundred dollars. nevermind. BTW, Mike Soldano has to eat. When you sell like 20 amps a year, the margins need to be really high.

Members Wolfeman28
The craftsmanship put into them justifies the price IMO. Built like a tank. The traces on the PCB are crazy thick.

Members n0fx
I paid 2K used for mine, I love it BUT I wouldn't pay anymore than thatfor ANY amp. FWIW the SLO is a class act though inside and out.
Members MRscratch
its immaculately built. mine is so cool inside, i wish it was the outside. it takes a week to build one, sometimes a little more. soldano builds about 250-275 pieces a year. total. mike told me that himself. they have 5 guys. he said they make a moderate profit, enough to employ them. but not much. the parts are hard to source. the 5 tin pre amp tube covers are 15$us each. the pots are about 20 usd$$ the trannies ..... well! anyhow, you get what you pay for.awesome amp .day after day, gig after gig. the power amp tubes are perfectly matched. at least in mine. while not the best sounding, definatly the most rugged tubes out there. the thing is a tank. nice powder coated chassis, invisible welds the list goes on.. Members cloudnine
Yes, the SLOs are well built, but more than anything you're paying for the name and the idea of "Hey, I have the original." My beef with the SLO is that Mike Soldano won't change certain things about the amp for whatever reason. I wouldn't pay $3000 for what is essentially a 1 channel amp. I'd rather have one SLO than a wall of 5150s, though.

I couldn't agree more. Out of all the big amps I have owned, the SLO is still quite possibly my favorite of all of them. I have some sound clips of it. It is one amazing amp!
