Members prosigna
Everyone here would love to give you ideas. We just need more info. 1. Budget?2. How many monitors?3. How many mixes? That said, powered wedges are nice options, something like Mackie SRM-450 or JBL PRX-512M.
Members Al Poulin
For an acoustic duo, a pair of powered peavey PR10Ps or PR12Ps would be ideal and are a great value. Al

Members IrishMatty
I would like 2 monitors. As for mixes, I dont really care that much as long as I can clearly hear everything. Budget is not a huge issue, as I have considered just buying a couple more mackie passive speakers to use. Lets say $600 outside. Thanks
Members prosigna
$600 each or $600 all together (300-each)? For 600 each passive cabinets - JBL MRX 512MFor 600 each Active - (1) Mackie SRM-350For 300 each - You are not going to get much better than you have. Peavey SP-12 or JBL JRX stuff

Members Not Serial
i really like the yamaha 15" wedges. disadvantages are they are kind of heavy and power hungry, 250watts at least and i know guys who pump 1000watts into them (thats crazy imho). but they sound really, really decent for ~$

Agreed... but they are almost 400 each (379.99 @ MF) The JBLs are 299.

(bad) Joke? We try to encourage spending money on something to improve the playing experience, not frustrate it.
Members prosigna
Give the young man some time to get up to speed. les_rokr, I understand you are 14-years old and wanting to learn about live sound. First thing to know is the cheapest thing available at musicians friend is usually a bad choice. The Kustom 10 monitors are as bad as I have ever heard. I know some young guys who love them but this is just from lack of exposure to stuff that really works well. Keep on trying and keep on learning. There are some guys here who really know their stuff and some guys who are real jerks, I'll let you figure out who is who.

Members tlbonehead
I have a pair of these for similar situations and they work and sound great. And they are built extremely well. Nice heavy looking woofer and horn driver. And they have wedge monitor angle, as well as being pole mountable.http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Crate-PSM10-Series-2-Way-Audio-Karaoke-PA-speakers-NR_W0QQitemZ200080082347
