  1. Hey guys, Happy new year 2024! Here is my first active speaker review of 2024 - of Yorkville YXL15P active tops. As Yorkville's entry level speaker line, the YXL line keeps impressing me - I've tried the 10s, 12s and 15s. I love the 15s as a single full range top option for smaller events. At 127DB, response down to 45hz and 1000 (max) watts of available power, not to mention a 3 channel mixer + bluetooth and 45 lb weight, it's hard to beat these speakers in terms of value for money. Simply put, they hit HARD and get LOUD, while being easy on the wallet and easy to move. Feel free if you have any questions Al Poulin - Party-Time! DJ Services
  2. DJ'd a few outdoor weddings last summer (and one indoors). The outdoor ones were wild as people hadn't partied in a while I'm guessing. Still using the DXR8s over DXS12 MKII subs for most of my weddings, and my RCF310As for the older folks who don't like deeper bass. DXR15s for smaller weddings and KX Audio (KV2) KX12s for smaller but more vocal oriented (live sound) events. Performed (as a musician) in 2 French Christmas shows in December. At least they were paying gigs All in all, I am in the best shape of my life after many lifestyle changes and still love testing and comparing active speakers! Al
  3. Hey guys, long time no chat Hope you have all been great! Here is my first active speaker review of the year! The YX series has always represented a good value from Yorkville, but I really think this new revamped version of the YX will be a game changer for Yorville. Price, features (bluetooth, 3 channel mixer), light weight and Yorkville service... The Club mode is a little much for the 10'' and 12'', but I'm hoping the 15'' version will be even better and a good full range solution for DJs on a budget. The mixer section on these cabs makes it great for solo performer as well. This little 12'' delivers surprising deep low frequency (47hz) and sounds pretty good overall. I felt the compression driver was different than the one used in the NX55P and DXR cabs and I was correct. They are lacking some of the sweeter "airy" top end, but for their price point, they already deliver enough...
