If you were the KSS conducter, why kind of symphony would you play with your threads?

What do you think would improve the flow of conversation around here? What kind of threads are you looking for when you come here?

I've often heard complaints and felt bored myself, sometimes with the content, or lack thereof, when i click the first page.

I'd like to mention that and get our forum members perspectives on what they enjoy.

Personally i cant stand it when it gets too stale, one reason i love a good OT. I enjoy the back and forth humor from hanging out with a crowd that seems intelligent, informed, and creative. I like gear threads, but I dont like when people too lazy to look up their own resources use us instead of the manual.

My number one attraction to the forum is when i learn something that simply can not be gleemed elsewhere. It's a distinction far removed from product announcements, or gear reviews. There are often insights into the industry that can be very perspective changing.

I love threads on methodology. It's not only insteresting to see how other people do it, sometimes it's illuminating to hear why they do it. Threads on synth craft are perhaps rare, but but there's still quite a lot of nuts and bolts discussions buried in the forum.

Dont like spam threads, although i dont mind them. The whole agreement was that if we dont like a thread we dont have to click on it, right?

I've never liked flame threads, and it's cool that, in general, these are quiet lately. Heh, the sampling thread was kind of fun just to see someone get pwned so bad.

It's still great that the demos keep coming. Even better when members songs get posted.

I wish we traded patches more between ourselves... seems some members are very protective of their intellectual property that way, but i say....phhhhht!!

I think we have too many stickies, and im wondering how long it will take Awake77 to compare every single synth to every other one.

:D

I encourage the moderators to leave us alone and permit our free discussions without locking, deleting, or modifying any thread.

um... kind of miss the stories from Trax, maybe you'd like to add another one? :)

What would you like to see that you haven't seen? What would you like more off? What would you like less off?

LMAO! You noticed!! :D Reviews can tell you one thing, but a bunch of KSS members engaged in conversation on the virtues of an XTK compared to a K5000S - now that's valuable information:) Im all done now though, I promise!

I also think we have too many stickies, and mostly because people dont really read them or use them. A track posted in the forum gets way more listens than it does in the 'post your music thread'. Its cool to have a thread just on one particular track, then all the comments in that thread are about it, and it tends to get more listens and responses.

Methodology threads are great - because it often leads you into finding a new or better way of doing things.

What would you like to see that you haven't seen? What would you like more off? What would you like less off?

Id like to see more tech-orientated threads as well, some DIY synth stuff. I know we have the DIY forum here on HC, but that's not the same.

More in-depth reviews from members on various pieces of equipment and software.

More demos, and more people responding to them with constructive criticism.

I'd love to solve this, but I have yet to find a way for it. Separate the read-only stuff from the comments-stuff.

without [...] or modifying any thread.

I'm only being anal about spelling (this one won't work because the title's too big :( so I'll leave it ) so searching for stuff works better.

What would you like to see that you haven't seen?

My own tracks :D.

What would you like more of?

No idea.

What would you like less of?

Mistreatment of the Queen's English :D.

Well, there are stickies because KSS members discussed about times ago and I agree they are great for new people coming, and to the ones who have been out for a time.

When you come here all day, appears to be a lot, but for the eventual visitor, they are a great start point.

I like synth comments from users. Most about what they are doing, how this turn into reality they ideas, what

I really though the KSS CD Compliation was a super-idea. I didnt have anything going at the time to contribute, and it was before I was really that active here, but thought it was great that members got together to put together a compilation.

It would be a cool idea to have something like a KSS Shoutcast station, where we're broadcasting our tracks out to the planet 24/7.

Get rid of all the OT {censored}...leave it for Open Jam. A lot of use do not like that {censored}. Have more topics about music. This such a gear heavy forum. I still would like a different forum for the players as unpopular as it is. There is still a disperatiy in here and a division. That is why I am so glad for the Backstage with the Band forum.

That is a good idea, problem would be keeping every joe blow who has never been on the forum except for their 1 post from putting their music up there.

by the way, that was possibly the most confusing subject for a thread i've ever read.

Oh, I would never advocate a certain agenda. This is much more just a survey of interests.

You are right, some people just will want cover page without any post in KSS.

I may sugest at least Member status to have music in the KSS Net-Planetary-Worldwide Music Station.

So only people who is for some time will be there.

At least you know the difference between very simple and elementary terms like they're, their, and there, and you're and your, and should have (not should of). That stuff -really- gets on my nerves (even though English is my second language too). Plus, you've got a good excuse that it's not your first language.

poor typing skills, spelling and gramma.

Personally, I am of the opinion that I'm a guest here. The common language here is English. I hear people talking about how they expect to be addressed in proper English in an English-speaking country; it's to be expected that the people who have English as their primary language themselves shouldn't somehow be exempt of this - but lead by example.

I'm not a spelling nazi - okay, maybe I am. The corrections I do are mainly for the search engine's sake. It'd be too bad if there was a great informative post in a thread that had as title "Krog AOSIS?". It'd kill the chance to find it.

To get rid of stickies, the forum needs an external page that hosts a FAQ, links, member music, etc. Then you need just one sticky pointing to that site.

I read KSS on my Blackberry perhaps more than on a PC. It is mildly annoying to have to scroll past all those sticky threads.

However, I do like the absense of frames, flash, etc. The site is very functionally compatible with my Blackberry.
