the lack of enthusiasm by the audience at the end is worth waiting for.

Yeah, that's hilarious. They clap like it's an audience of bored parents that just got done listening to another boring version of Silent Night or something.

Too bad she has a {censored}ty feel.

Yeah - a more mature player could make it swing.

It's cool that she's kicking bass at such a young age though.

She kinda botched the solo too, especially the last lick....

Still, that's better than I could do - I've never done the bass pedal thing....

Yeah, timing was off in the solo but she recovered nicely- a paint-by-numbers player couldn't have done that. That section of the song is pretty tricky for anybody, IMO. I doubt there are many here who could pull it off. Given all she was doing and her age she's pretty impressive.

Maybe she is being groomed to take over for Geddy Lee in "Rush"-no swing necessary.:D

It is not that amazing really.

dude, i'll be the first mother{censored}er to roast some Berklee grad with a strat and a tube screamer. STG has _zero_tolerance_ for side-stepping rote licks and smarmy looks while playing them.

however, this girl did something really {censored}ing cool. you should be happy for her. despite what you might think about her feel, you can not do something like this without being totally BA. your parents don't push you into covering some Kansas song with an Electone ... it's generally something you arrive at on your own. she's got a mind of her own if she's doing something like this, and making the most out of her parents most likely pressuring her into music lessons.

let's see what you think of this. Virgil Fox playing The Entertainer:

Yeah it is impressive in terms of what she is covering but I can tell by how she plays and her feel that it is not instinctual. She is a classical trained musician and could probably bury us playing Chopin or something. Everything it perfect that she plays, fingering, posture, and technique but there is still something missing.

Yeah, hormones. Give her a chance to turn teen and feel some blues first. Why I myself was a classical nerd until I turned 14, but see how I turned out! :D
