hahahaa actually, we all in in separate parts of the country now. But, I might see if they want to do an online collaboration for one Venom based song. Just funny we all jumped on this price drop.

Any owners here have good sites for patches downloading?

Price is nice but Venom sound seems to bee kind of specific "agresive". I would like to know is it even possible (with proper programming of course) to get from it say some mellow pads, or smooth basses at all?

It DOES sound edgy and different. That is a plus to me. Not the same old "ok" VA sound, but something a little newish. The demos I watched covered a lot of ground from new and edgy, distortions to good old moog solos and strings. It's not for everything, but seems unique and for $200 plus being an audio interface, PLUS being a controller, too hard to resist. My buddy sent the email, and we all bought one within 20 minutes!

Why should it be impossible? Seriously... confused.gif
Listened bunch of Venom factory and user demos and never heard anything like that, hence my question. Also (94 waveforms derived from analogue synths) poke.gif
Prove me wrong

I was able to resist the temptation to buy one of these. As in the case of the (now sold) X-Station, I tried to get my son interested, but he seems more interested in just playing the RD900GX. I am fine with that - it makes me happy to see him enjoying it.

I bought my Venom on Black Friday.
I think it sounds great for lead, bass, and groove stuff.
I was trying to get some smooth pads going which wasn't as easy as on other synths I've owned. But I'm just scratching the surface at this point.
I used it as a controller at band practice for my Voce V3 clonewheel. then played a couple of lead sounds on it too. It's way more portable than the triton which may go into semi retirement. I like that string synth sound in the vid above. I will have to give that a shot.
