  4. Originally posted by Songman68 Even though I hate to see the flag burned I don't think it should be banned in this country. Here are my reasons. 1. The flag is really nothing more than a piece of cloth, the only symbol that we as a country should cherish is the constitution, and our elected officials are burning that thing every day and nothing gets done about it. How about we pass a law instead making it illegal for our elected officials to pass any law that is not enumerated in Article 1 Section 8 of our constitution. Lets also right in that law if they try to they will be charged with treason. 2. Burning the country flag was also banned by Saddam Hussein and it is also prohibited in many other countries that are run by dictators, tyrants, and thugs. Our country is founded on freedom and I don't think we should be following their examples. I find it interesting that when mainstream conservatives are upset about the way the country is being run they don't resort to un-patriotic destructive behavior...
  5. someone should start a thread: Liberals and Conservatives....what amps do you use? we can see what amps appeal to which political view?...or not....some amp makers would probably be insulted...(invariably...)
  6. Originally posted by kush06 Left-Wing Rant Damn, did you ever just put me in my place. Owned even. The logic in your arguments is dizzying. I've noticed a trend among the right-wingers here. Anytime they are challenged, not one can pull a piece of real world data out to support their ideas, they just resort to name calling. Are you an adolescent, or just too stupid to have a real discussion? the content of your posts suggests both. You are doing some pretty good 'name calling' here... 8. Originally posted by kush06 Why am I whining when all I did was turn the tables on the original post I quoted? Turnabout is no longer fair play? Why does caring about the environment mean I live in a teepee? That's just stupid, and a predictable response. Wheeeeee!!!! Look at me, I don't want mercury in my water, I don't want to breathe asbestos, I'm a liberal hippy! It's easy enough to do the research on how this administration feels (legislates) about the environment, I encourage you to do some yourself. How can it be too early for me to know what *has* happened? I'll judge the war as I see fit, thank you, but do you really want to argue that the reasons the admin. led us to war were valid? WMD, Iraqi ties to Al-queda? Come on. It was quite obvious when the rationale chagned from "fighting terrorists and al queda" to "liberating a country", which was when they could no longer support their own false claims. There were so many improprieties and irregularaties in both of the past elections as to warrant serious investigation. Example: it's a documented fact that thousands of votes were "lost" or changed in Ohio, suspicously from Diebold machines the state was required to use. I'll give you sources if you like, since I like to back my statements with fact. There's a {censored}load of data, from the goverments own audits. Won't argue with you about gore losing tennessee though, that *was* pathetic. The rest, I will argue. It's not surprising many republicans think that Saddam was involved in 911, since many get their "facts" from people like Bill and Rush, which conveniently makes my next point...they're full of {censored} hypocrits that twist the thoughts of their easily manipulated, unthinking listeners. They aren't just actors and entertainers, many, *many* people take what they say as fact, and then turn around and spout it off on places, like, say, an amp forum. Thanks for making my point. If you think those people are passionate in their search for truth, well, then there's really no arguing with you, since you live in an alternate reality. Search for answers and truth! Here's a gem: O'Reilly falsely claimed Bush didn't oppose 9-11 Commission. O'Reilly defended President George W. Bush from a Kerry-Edwards '04 TV ad highlighting Bush's opposition to creation of the 9-11 Commission by denying that Bush had ever opposed the commission. In fact, Bush did oppose the creation of the 9-11 Commission. (10/21/04) There were studies done that showed voters who listen to these people were far more uninformed on the issues, as well as the underlying facts dealing with those issues, than people who don't listen. That's just dangerous. You sound a bit intolerant your own self. You are right, though, I am intolerant...towards ignorance and intolerance. We do agree completely on one point, though. I want my nugs too. Left-Wing Rant

  10. Originally posted by rememberduane Either your professor was extremely right-wing or you never took the courses. Are you saying that symbolic speech isn't protected? Get over it, you don't know what you're talking about and are trying to pull some credibility out of nowhere. Or do you think that Supreme Court Justices have been less capable of interpreting the Constitution than you? You gots lots ta learn son...we'll do lunch when you get outta High School...

  12. Originally posted by Loghead I'm not the one who confuses those aspects which are wonderful about this country with a flag. Then....NO TICKET FOR YOU!
  13. Originally posted by rememberduane In this case, we are free. Symbolic free speech has been protected by the Supreme Court time and time again. I recommend taking a class in Constitutional Law at your local community college. Agreed. Really? Have you spoken to them? Do you have documents in which they stated this? Quotes? Good try, Cletus. Subjective and unbased. Again, take the Constitutional Law course, and maybe one in political philosophy. A democracy hinges on free speech, freedom of press, free expression, etc. This is why it's the FIRST amendment. Actually, my assumption was the cursing and emotional/angry tone indicated being emotional. But nice try again, Cletus. Actually, I have taken a few (heheh) courses in Constitutional Law...(part of my Business degree...) I have a little bit of a background in this area. Most people here, on this forum are mis-interpreting the First Amendment. Probably because of the onslaught of left-wing activist Judges on the Supreme Court lately....that is being changed however.... when you get outta High School maybe we can sit down and have a civilized converation about Constitutional things?
  14. Originally posted by Loghead If you don't like this country, why don't you leave? if you're going to burn the flag why don't YOU just leave... I'll buy the plane ticket...ONE WAY.
  15. Originally posted by rememberduane You never cease to amaze. You are by far the most ridiculously unintelligent human being I have ever encountered. ah, c'mon ol' chum...don't be like that...you know you like me...admit it!
  16. Originally posted by rememberduane It is 100% hypocritical to say you love the flag and what it stands for but think that flag burning should be a punishable offense. Sorry, but it's just true. Just because the flag represents FREEDOM does NOT mean that we are completely free to do whatever we please.. There are flaws with the United States. The ones who truly love it are the ones willing to fix it, not the ones who turn a blind eye to the problems. EVERYONE would like to "FIX" America...our country is divided on exactly what "FIX America" entails... True patriots include Martin Luther King Jr, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, Henry Drummond, Thomas Jefferson ("The highest form of patriotism is dissent."), Benjamin Franklin, among others. Most of these people considered 'burning the flag' as TREASON and would have the perpetrator shot... Burning the flag is symbolic speech. of a disrespectful, childish expression ofFirst amendment. THE most important civil liberty. ehhh,....er, ....all of the Amendments are IMPORTANT! Don't think you can get emotional and avoid that fact. I 'get it' if you don't agree with you, then, you are emotional...sorry, doesn't follow...

  18. Originally posted by favata5 Well I guess I gotta explain,First off I love this country more than I love myself,I served in the Military proudly back in the 80s to me the flag means alot and it needs to be respected! You may burn the flag only when its ragged and not permitted to fly,not because you feel its your right to do so. Secondy,I dont hate homosexuals,I dont believe in what they do.but I cant hate them for what they are! I just dont think our children should have thier ways jammed down their throats that its ok and normal to have a mommy and a mommy or a daddy and a daddy!! thats not normal! Thirdly, theres lots of folks like me in this world,we love our country and will fight to protect it,and if people are afraid to step up and be willing to sacrifice then they have to leave this great country!Thats all there is to it and lastly I know its so tiring to talk about Patriotic stuff, lol you know back when we were hit by the scumbag terrorists 5 years back lots of people were flying that flag so high and proud! What happened?? hardly ever see a flag now except at my house and the post office>> hmmm makes me wonder! this is all im saying about this subject so take it away and think what you want, just remember if you think you have the right to burn the flag then I have a right to say whay I feel!! My friend, you have stepped into the land of "mega left-wing jack-ass, God hating, Death Metal loving, angry, immature, narcissistic, sadistic, disrespectful, foolish lost donkeys"......you will have better luck as a Jew asking Hitler for mercy or selling ice cubes to Eskimoes etc....you will find no love here...or not much anyways...let me put my helmet on cause here comes a load of donkey dung from the crowd that I just described in the quotation marks... (Updated list...)

When it comes to bull{censored}, big-time, major league bull{censored}, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bull{censored} story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bull{censored} story. Holy {censored}! But I want you to know something, this is sincere, I want you to know, when it comes to believing in God, I really tried. I really, really tried. I tried to believe that there is a God, who created each of us in His own image and likeness, loves us very much, and keeps a close eye on things. I really tried to believe that, but I gotta tell you, the longer you live, the more you look around, the more you realize, something is {censored}ed up. Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the r

I know of a lot of guys who practiced like this kid when they were younger and they have all moved on from shred. Just saying and nothing personal! ~R~ do you mean by: 'moving on from shred' that what this kid is doing now is unacceptable
