  2. Originally posted by STEEL KAGE My hats off to the kid!! He took the time to learn a piece( and a pretty challenging one at that) all the way through and while he has a ways to go, youve got give him props for doing a decent job Kage I think this is a different 'type' of 'music' altogether....guys from my generation (ie: me... ) have a hard time 'understanding this type of playing...it seems to come off more like a 'carnival act' than anything 'moving or creative'....spitting out notes and ghost notes like they mean nothing...12 notes per nanosecond...seems pointless to me I can truly appreciate someone that can make this 'style' work....this kid, although (arguably) 'good' for his age...isn't close to making all those notes 'work' yet...obviously, there are guys on this forum that have a GREAT appreciation for this style... I (admittedly) don't get it..
  3. you've lost that now feeling....woah-a---oh 'now feeling'.....now it's gone....gone...gone...whoa---a--whoa...
  4. Originally posted by jackson soloist usa me too!! how does one go about getting this NOW FEELING in thier playing? To play with alot of "now feeling" turn up the PRESENCE to '10' on your amp!!!!
  5. kids that 'over play' are a cliche'.....(and ol' timers that complain about kids that over play are cliche's too!!! I know, I know!!!...)
  6. Originally posted by -=MYK=- Yeah, and I'm quite sure that he plays to impress you! LOL LOL LOL LOL welp...I've taught guitar for a number of years and kids wanting to 'instantly impress' was EASILY the #1 goal of most my students... BTW: love your avatar man!....settle down Beavis!
  7. maybe this ol timer mis-judged the yun-un!
  8. (coming from an 'insecure old guy')..... a few things: 1) sounds like he's playing through a Crate practice amp with the gain dimed... 2) he's only hitting about 30% of the notes in the arps attempted... 3) this video-- is to-- guitar playing....as.....premature ejaculation-- is to-- sex. Hate to slam the kid, but he should get the basics down before trying the 'monster licks'..... I'm more impressed with 'beginning' guitarists putting the emphasis on clean, articulate playing...no matter what style.... for those of you that disagree with my opinion to the point of slammin' me: Sorry....
