Members 's mel gibson
I think my Firebird VII is all walnut. I'm not sure and it's painted 'blue mist'.

Members mrbrown49
I think Quarter uses walnut a fair bit in his lapsteal builds. He usually uses tru oil to finish his stuff, so that should give you a pretty good idea. http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=2357676
Members Quarter
I think Quarter uses walnut a fair bit in his lapsteal buildsI have used black walnut on several steels. This pic is pretty representative of what some good un-steamed black walnut looks like with Tru Oil on it..
Members ugameus
http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/ClassicShowcase.aspx?Body=1&Spotlight=1&Path=Neck Go there and choose walnut as the neck wood, then search. CLick on the neck you want to check out and there will be some more pics.

Members mrbrown49
What's the general style of the guitar? Flat top or carved top? Bolt on? Strat, tele, LP...shaped?
Members MahaloVision
I've used Peruvian Walnut on a few necks, but don't have any pictures. Overall it's OK - light, works easily although is a bit prone to chipping and splintering. Some builders have reported problems with it being strong and stable, but I haven't had that problem. It's not as pretty as Claro, but widely available. I started making a violin with Peruvian once, but never got around to finishing it.

Members mrbrown49
That looks great. Nice finish and grain on the body, and I really like the markerless maple board.
Members bsman
Isn't walnut a fair amount heavier than the maple or mahogany usually used in necks?
