Dear All

my newest toy

I always liked the Jaguar shape, tried to get a used one(unbelieveble prices) read a lot about it(you should do this before)

http://www.jag-stang.com/Docs/jaguarfaq.pdf

and finally pulled the trigger and bought a Jaguar Special(JGS) new in Japan

basically it is short scale(24" instead of my Tele and Strats 25,5"")which needs a bit of attention(not too much though),its very well made, very nice wood.

It has a 7,25" radius(no deal to me) and Humbuckers,silent,Dragster-J.they are OK as far as I can say nice tone variety very responsive a bit muddy in the bottom(compared to my other HB Bluesbuckers) but I am not the HB specialist

What I also can say is that it came with a lousy setup and more the lousy strings. But this I did know ahead and accepted.More deatails on quality here

Thread 7

From now on I will

explore its tone

change to Flatwound 11's (From 9s to the original intended strings)

Still not sure on the bridge(also a well known issue) where the 9s jump out under heavy playing

The first song I played was Petite Fleur by Chris Barber and it was simply great

Have fun,as much as I have

Really high

Nothing normal quality below 1000 bucks

But it may come as there are rumours that there was recently (misssed, missed :facepalm:) a Fender Friday sellout on Jaguars in the states.

but paying 1000 for a used(with Tremolo) vs 1100 bucks(900 Euro) for a new then I go to the new

BUT READ THE PDF ABOVE BEFORE YOU BUY

Is this basswood? That's what it says in your other post above. I have the black version that has been available here in the US and it is alder.
Love the look - love my black one too.

Got any solutions for the bridge? I'm playing 10's and do haved some issues with strings jumping out, particularly with finger style but sometimes with bends up the neck. Thought of making the slots bigger, but a drop in would be simpler... any thoughts?

Nice guitar, congrats.

Thanks you were right I am wrong it is Alder-->changed in the other tread(looked to the wrong guitar on Fender Japan website)

Bridge

One question is wether you have a Jaguar with Tremolo or not.Tremolo are more vulnerable

First I go to 11's as these are the original Jaguar strings
If still no better I change the bridge(on a new guitar:facepalm:) probably to this

And you can also look to here

Or I go like everybody else to the Mustang bridge.Issue is that you need a bridge for the 7,25" radius

All the best
