Members gt5litre
Local pawn shop has a MIA Peavey Odyssey. It is a Tele style guitar with set-neck or perhaps neck-through. It has a carved flame-maple top, mahogany body and neck, Grover tuners, Gotoh(??) bridge and tailpiece. The neck is a thin D-carve (Gibson 60s style). Fretboard appears to be ebony and very flat. Right now it has Duncan pickups and two tone, two volume LP-style control arrangement. It can purchased for 150 bucks. is it "flip-able" or would it be something to keep. Shop also has an S-73 (Guild S-100 or SG style) 2001 De Armond with the most excellent Gold Tone pickups, but is a yucky Emerald Green. 100 bux can buy this one. Thing is I am really trying to get down to 4 or 5 guitars. This would appear to be taking things in the wrong direction... Your sage advice is needed, please! gt5litre
Members Tweedledee
A Peavey Odyssey sold recently for $499 on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/PEAVEY-ODYSSEY-CUSTOM-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-S-N-05303734_W0QQitemZ370288342390 The S-73 for $100 is also a fantastic deal if it's in good shape. That's the set-neck one, right? I would buy them both.

Members Fusion1
gt5litre, get the Odyssey. Flip it if you don't like it. I'm actually looking to score one myself. The Peavey Generation Teles from the early 90s are also pretty awesome for a Metal take on a tele.

Members tlbonehead
I have 4 Odysseys. Easily the best guitar you can buy for under $500. Actually, its harder to find a better guitar period. And yes, the board is ebony.
