Members gm@work
I own an Ibanez SC420, wich is equiped with the V1 and V2 pickups. But i don't seem to get a good metal tone with them. So i was looking for another set of pickups to putt in my axe, and i came across the DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100, and thought this could be what i was looking for. Another option i'm considering is to buy a set of EMG's, an 80 and an 61. So i was wondering if you guys could help me out with my decission. Oh, and I was wondering if someone knows a good neck pickup to combine with the DiMarzio DP100. I hope you guys want to help me out. I would really apreciate it!(sorry if my english isn't that great, i'm belgian) greetings.
Members EADGBE
I like the DiMarzio super distortion and DiMarzio PAF combination. I also like the Duncan JB at the bridge with a DiMarzio PAF at the neck combination for a little more warmth.

Members gm@work
So you guys think i should go for the DiMarzio Super Distortion and the PAF Pro?
Members greatmutah
Super Distortions are awesome. Could always go with a Super 2 in the neck if you like a hotter neck pickup. Other than that, yeah I'd go with the PAF pro. I've got one in the bridge of my strat and it sounds great.
Members gm@work
okay, thanks for your opinion. nice gear btw I looked up the Super2, and I think i'm going to putt this one in the neck together with the Super Distortion in the bridge. looks like an awesom combination. if someone has another idee, please let me know. Members ExiledCrow
I've got an LP with a Super3 at the bridge and a Peavey Predator (think strat) with a Superdistortion at the bridge, both sound really good. Pair them with something more moderate (PAF pro is good) and you should have good results. Plus you don't have to do the extra work that installing EMGs would require. Members Mr_GoodBomb
I'll always love the Super Distortion. Had a few EMGs, and while they're not bad, I don't get the hype.
Members Hubert Stumblin
Dunno about EMGs but I put a SD in an old Gibby SG-1 in about 1979 and it is a monster rock and roll guitar.

Thanks dude. It's always a work in progress and I'm always customizing something. That HM Strat in there is going to get an Air Norton S to go in the neck position to beef that up and the HS-2 is going in the middle. I can't help but tinker. Members gm@work
So i should go for the super distortion (bridge) and PAF Pro (neck)?? or the super distortion (bridge) and Super2 (neck)??
Members koen77
+ 1 for the super distortion. I have had about 10 pickups in my floyd rose strat before i settled with the super distortion. There's something special about that pickup. Sounds really glassy in parallel too. Members greatmutah
Super distortion in the bridge for sure. Super 2 or PAF...really, that would be more up to your personal taste. I would personally go with the super 2, but I like hotter pickups anyway. The PAF Pro is a great pickup, but I dig the sound of a Super 2.
