Johnny Winter's first three commercial albums are excellent, and showcase his versatility in various blues styles, including acoustic, jump, and Chicago-influenced electric, as well as his own evolving blues-rock (which seemed refreshingly independent of the British invasion-larceny). Also, a personal favorite of mine is Johnny's cover of "It's My Own Fault" from the album And, Live."Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" is also wicked hot.

Paul Oliver's Story Of The Blues, perchance? I had that ...

That'll be it...thanks, what with being older than you and being away from my UK records for 15 years, I couldn't remember the title but this year when I come over, Imma packin' 'em up to bring here.
Fleetwoods first, Savoy Browns first, several Mayalls, T-Bone Walker, Django Reinhardt, Ummagumma, Wheels of Fire, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels (), ........

Not the best videography, but the audio gives you the idea.

I saw these folks at the peak of their powers (back in the 80's) when I was in grad school in Iowa City. They'd make the midwest college and club circuit from out of Chicago. Butt-kickin' bands, too.
