Members csm
Call me a philistine ... *massed choral roar of 'You're a philistine!!!!!"* ... but the best thing you can do with a Tele neck pickup slot is carve it out a tad and drop a nice, juicy, good-quality Strat pickup in there. That's essentially what the GFS alnico fatbody does, and it doesn't require any pickguard surgery...
Members twofoolsaminute
No, but I did consider a Brighton Rock Fatbody and two Brighton Rocks. Sounds phenomenal.

Members o.versteer
I'm no expert on this topic, although I agree that the Tele neck pickup can be a bit lacking. However, I've been very pleasantly surprised with the el cheaptastic set of Tonerider Hot Classics I've had put in my Fernandes Tele copy. The neck pickup in that set does a very credible Jimi. What's not to like?

My other Tele is a very expensive Masterbuilt Custom Shop relic - the Toneriders don't sound like it, they're hotter and rockier, but their sound is in many ways just as valid. And I got the set used for

Members Willyguitar
Twisted tele is indeed great. I'm pretty sure you can occasionally pick 'em off, ripped out of a baja on ebay. I really liked the Nocaster neck pickup too - not unlike the twisted, but perhaps even more towards a stratty neck sound.
Members vintage clubber
Now you're just rubbin it in:lol:As it turns out I got a CS Nocatser neck for 30 squid, see how it goes I wish I could trade some calimari for a guitar neck...:poke:

Members strtdv
I use a Bareknuckle 55 Stagger Blackguard set in my tele, and I really like the neck tones. It doesn't have the bite or twang of the bridge, but it's very clear and warm. It handles gain well too, something that the bridge pickup just gets too trebly on. Members PunkKitty
For me it's Bill Lawrence Keystones for my Strat and Tele. Great (not good) USA made pickups at a fantastic price.

Members Rex Machete
the last tele I played (a highway one) had a neck pickup that sounded like someone had put the volume halfway down.

Members akapuli
So liked it, but not loved it?I can understand the Seth Lover I sold all my guitars but two, so had to cover the 'neck humbucker' thingy with my Tele.
