Members SirJackdeFuzz
Wow! I have never seen one like that before. Like a doublecut 175. All the 150s I've seen had no cut at all. So, you gonna get it? :poke: EG DEFF . . . if my ship comes in before someone else buys it
Members meandi
1964 Guild T-100. Kinda dusty & crusty right now, but has a perfectly straight neck, great action, minimal fret wear, original pickup, grover tuners.Needs a new nut, a fresh set of strings & a little TLC in a few areas. Members Alecto
I just wanted to chime in here again - just gigged my Hamer Newport this weekend, subbing in a blues band. Straight into a Soldano Atomic 16 20w. Not much headroom but a great range of sounds just working the tone and vol controls. I don't know whether the Phat Cats sound exactly like P90s but they sound bloody amazing in this guitar. A Mahogany/Spruce guitar + fat(phat) single coils + small, marshalesque amp = One winning combinationI love me some Hamers (see my sig). I keep on hearing rumours that Fender's shutting them down. I really hope not because they're such a great brand.I presume your Newport looks something like this?

Members Bluesidae
I like the new Kingpin. Interesting that they went with the cut away for the Jazz version. The earlier, P90, single pu version was not a cut away. Any idea of delivery dates or prices??

Since they are getting $1,000 for the Kingpin II and this one has an upgraded top, finish and fretboard..... Maybe $1,300-$1,500? EG

Members Bluesidae
Agreed. It should cost more. Godin prices have been increasing lately. No worries, I always thought their prices were low (i.e. relative to the quality). Don't get me wrong, I don't want to pay more, but even at $1300 to $1500 it is a steal. Members Elias Graves
I know. I thought my standard 5th Avenue acoustic (with case) was stupid cheap at $400. The Jazz has a mahogany neck (silver maple on the standards), mahogany body with flame maple top, ebony board, gloss finish. $1500 sounds about right to me. Members Elias Graves
The only one I hear people rave about is the Lace Dobro Sensor. People who use that one seem to like it a lot. From the clips I've heard, it DOES sound very much like a resonator. That's all I know. EG

EG Hmmm... Maybe I should look at the original 5th Avenue (non pick up). They are listed at $499 CDN. I would assume the acoustic version would project louder? EG, have you compared yours to the cutaway Kingpin? thx

I would assume the acoustic version would project louder? EG, have you compared yours to the cutaway Kingpin? thx MUCH louder. Unplugged, the Kingpins aren't anything to write home about. With some tweaking and the right strings, mine will hang with my nephew's Martin dread. That pisses him off. WAY different sound than a dread, but it's friggin loud. Really cuts through. The Kingpins, with electric strings and all that hardware bolted to the top, are electric guitars all the way. EG
Members bruto
I have two: an Epiphone Casino, which is full hollow, and an Aria TA-62 which is a 335 type full hollow (although it has a block under the bridge and tailpiece.) I just bought the 12 year old Aria, which was NOS, for $220. I bought it primarily to put in a beautiful sounding set of PAF pickup I have. Right now I have all the electronics out of it. This weekend I plan to solder an all new harness with the PAFs, and put it back together. I'll post photos when it's done.
