Need your opinion on the mixing approach of my new cover. (Get Jinxed)

So i released a new cover, first thing you got to know is that i took the original song turned it to mono and cut all the low end from it, now that removed most of the detail of the original song and gave me room to work on, and by turning it mono it removed the original grungy guitars playing at the left and right channels.

Thing is i'm a soundtrack producer and i like mixes that sound right . . so even though it's a guitar cover i kept the vocal as the center of the song as it should be . . so some people complained they can't hear the guitars but i think the mix is good . . do you think that if i present a guitar cover i should make the guitars the center of the mix even though it has vocals ? and even if it was an original song that wouldn't be the case ?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated !

The guitars sound way back. Also seem to have no attack at all making them almost synth like.

Even when you go for it at 00:49 it sounds like the vocals are upstairs with us and you are playing downstairs.

( In fairness to you I have old ears but that's how it feels to me:) )

Can't listen now.  But as a recomendation, I use the stereo field as best I can.  I put some things hard left or right rather than leave them too much toward the middle.  It just cleans up the mix to my ears.  If the guitar sounds too far in the back, take away some effect and sit it 80% to one ear.  then remix the volume.  You can get some presence without talking over other parts.

Since i don't have a mic i recorded the signal directly, and as i said i the whole thing is laid ontop of an original son that i cut and turned mono, the guitars i added are panned hard left and right.

I think the mix is good but the way i presented it demands the guitars upfront which from a production point of view would be wrong, so it came out a dud . . lesson learned . .
