This is very interesting. How do you guys organize your songlists? I see some of you have pasted them alphabetically by title or by artist, so I assume it's in a spreadsheet. I have some kind of mental illness that makes me compulsive about lists. My setlist has several columns. I have the title and artist, of course. Then I have the key because sometimes I get in a rut and play like 5 songs in a row in E or something. I have a genre column that I put in to make sure that I was balanced. I used to do too much white people music, if you know what I mean. Too much squaresville, middle of the road, suburban rock and roll. I have check boxes for looper, whether I need a cheat sheet and whether I could do the song naked (just acoustic) if I needed to. Lastly, I have a quality score from 1 to 10. Unfortunately, I've never had a song rank over a 5. I added a column for "appeal", which is whether it is a guitar song or a sweet song or to kill time. The most important part is to forget to print it out and take it ot the gig so I just sit there trying to think of stuff on the spot.
I am a fairly mediocre singer, so I don't do the normal eagles/billy joel stuff.
